Default Sloooowly coming off

Well, finally lost a couple of more pounds, and it's been what, 3 weeks! I think I have lost a total of 5 pounds. :sadblinky I guess it's my own fault for getting off of it and I have yet to exercise, but I am glad it's coming off. I have also lost inches, and my clothes are fitting baggy. All that with just 5 pounds I guess is not bad. Still I am quite disappointed. Before I would have lost at least 10 by now.

well when you don't do Atkins you can only blame yorself for your slow results. Dr Atkins said if you aren't doing exercise you are not doing my program in chapter 15 for DANDR so you are not doing Atkins and we can't really help you tweak your plan because we only know how to make atkins based changes and everybody is going to tell you if you want faster results you nedd to do the plan as he wrote it period.

You don't have the same body nor the same metabolism you had on whatever your last weight loss plan was as human bodies are always morphing mass and altering metabolism inresponce to food and exercise demands.

Do Atkins and see what Atkins will do for you.

Happy low carbing.

Good deal! It's always nice when the pounds finally come off. I have noticed with the exercise that I feel much better and my weight is cooming off faster. Kick yourself in the butt and get moving! If I can do it, ANYBODY can! I am huge, have fibromyalgia, and am just a lazy a$$. I keep picturing myself in a size 8 again and that's what does it for me.
Great job with your loss!! :joy :joy :joy :joy

Default hang in there

i lost 11 pounds in the first two weeks.

I am a firm believer in drinking water only (not even touch the "carb free" drinks or flavored water).

If you want to drop weight quicker, try a week of this:

Pure water. Kick it up a notch and drink at least 80 or 90 ounces.

Also do some type of exercise. even if it is walking around the block once. do something. it will speed up your metobolism.

Also, try and eat LESS than 20 carbs. Shoot for 8 or 10 carbs per day.

For one week just try and eat eggs, bacon and sausage for breakfast, hamburgers or cheeseburgers or salmon for lunch and steaks or more burgers and eggs for dinner.

Use pepperoni as a snack.

NO bars or shakes.

Just try it for one week, and i bet you will drop more than 5 pounds.

I didn't exercise either for the first 5 weeks and lost about 1 pound per week. I did start to exercise (granted for only 20 minutes/day 4 days a week) and I lost double - 2 pounds per week! Needless to say, I have exercised even more since then. This WOE does work! We just all don't loose at the same rate as others because of age and other factors. I wish I could lose more than 1-2 pounds per week like other people have here on this board, but I had to come to terms with that. I am LOSING. The tape measure says it as well as the scale. So I am going to stick with it! Try some exercise....I bet you'll be amazed! :nod

Your doing great 5 pounds gone. i would suggest you do some form of exercise 30 minutes if you can do this much it would be great it does help especially with the inches. atleast 3-5 times in a week. remember you dont have to do it all at once you can split it upin batches of 10 minutes morning, 10 minutes lunch and 10 minutes evening just as long as you get 30 minutes done in a day.
give it a try and drink your water. otherwise keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for your replies. I know I'm lazy also, but I also have a very demanding 5 month old. When he finally goes to bed around 8pm, I finally have time to do the things I need to do such as dishes, laundry, getting on the computer ( I know) and sometimes even cooking dinner. I know tht it's to late to be eating, but hubby sometimes does not get home till then because of classes and he has to eat and so do I.

He works 24 hour shifts, he work one day on then one day off for about 3 days, then gets 4 days off in a row. I work 12 hour rotating shifts from 7 to 7, so I don't get home until about 7:45. That is when I have to get baby ready for bed, then after that cook dinner if hubby has not yet or if it is in the morning when I get off, I usually go straight to bed and sleep till about 4pm, then get up and get ready for work again. I know excuses, excuses. I need to get moving, and I have lost inches.
