You should eat if you are hungry. Eat a real meal - protein, fat and vegetables no junk or stuff. Drink plenty of water.

its also harder to sleep right after eating so make sure you eat asap when you get home from work

its good to give your body about 2-3 hours since its last meal before going to sleep i think unless its something little

I work third shift also (bartender) and I have to eat something when I get off work as well...by the time I get home at 4 it's normally been at least 8-10 hours since I've eaten anything.

I'm aware that it's bad to go that long to eating especially when you're trying to diet, so I'm going to start bringing in two hardboiled eggs for a snack while I'm working....but I'm sure that I will have to continue eating something when I return home as well...

It's sort of unavoidable when you work those hours unfortunately.

I like to keep a batch of fajita already made in my refrigerator sans tortilla. That way, I get super hungry at night I can just heat them up in the microwave for 45 seconds, and Voolaa! Here is my recipe:

Me to i am so craving certain sweets! All tho it doesnt help when the boyfriend wants brownies etc and i have to make them!
I do how ever eat the atkins bars yet i feel guilty cuz certain ppl say not to then sum say go 4 it!
But my meals dont really consist of portions and measuring out veges etc.
I kinda figure t out in my head like today i had 3 eggs over easy and 3 saus patties, then a piece of turkey for lunch and dinner i had steak fahitas with a whole bunch of sliced red, green, yellow peppers and a few slices of white onion a dollop of sour cream and water water water all day! I been doing stuff like this for the entire 14 days!
And bars here and there and a shake or 2 once and a great while but more bars then shakes!
Now im lost cuz i was starting at 194 and i was down to 184.5 on sat! Now here its monday and the scales says 186? So wth do i do i wait til the morning to weigh in not every day but every other day?
Any suggestions on portions or easy to make dinners lunches etc?
We can do this together i am in search of a partner online to talk to every day and update them with my weight as well as thers! Plz let me know!!!!!!!!
Thank you sooo much!
Shalisa!

Hey Shalisa! Don't want to get on your case, but especially in induction I really don't think those bars or shakes are a good idea at all... not just in hindering weight loss, but also by really promoting the sweet cravings you are having. It is best to stay away from the processed food, particularly at this juncture. If Dr. Atkins were still around, he would not be promoting the use of such products; it really is a shame they are using his name on them. In my personal experience I have tried to use such products in the maintenance stage of the plan (I can be lazy and even though real food is yummy, it's just so easy to drink your lunch on the go) and I have not only had sudden cravings, but an 8 lb weight gain several months ago when I incorporated these into my diet a few times a week (this was the only change I made). I couldn't believe the scale!! Once I dropped the shakes... whoosh... bye bye 8 lbs!! I won't make that mistake again! So, I mean everyone is different and I'm not one to preach, but I really think now is the time to learn to eat REAL foods and I really think you will have even better success (9 lbs is GREAT by the way) doing that. Even just try it for a two week period and see if you see a difference.
As far as easy dinners, I love making different types of salads, like egg, chicken, tuna... etc. I'll often grab some for lunch plain, and then put it on top of a regular salad dinner time. You can look up recipes on the internet; there are so many ways to spice these up into really different tasty dishes. I also have had lots of successes with BBQ cookbooks in finding great (and tasty) low-carb dinners. I'm a BBQ NUT and you can find me huddled around my grill in 3 feet of snow, lol. A lot of these recipes also work in the oven as well for more sane people. Linda's site is also invaluable for ideas and it's great that she designates what is appropriate for induction. Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home
As far as snacks go I LOVE just putting a little parm cheese on a cookie sheet and sticking it under the broiler to make a quick and yummy cracker that is actually crunchy!
Anyway, sorry had to put my darn two cents in
Happy low-carbing!

If you are hungry and want to snack I like to keep boiled eggs, buffalo chicken wings, and meatballs around for just such emergencies. The buffalo wing sauce is atkins friendly, as is my meatball recipe. I used to make the meatballs so big that you would need 2 bites to finish them but I'm going to start making them smaller.

I've also fallen in love with that Eggnog milkshake that others are talking about. I have one around 7pm once or twice a week and it soothes the sweet tooth and gives me additional protein and fat without the carbs of something really sweet. In fact, last night I had one instead of dinner.

When I'm not on induction I have small amounts of nuts, less than a serving size, but you can't have those on induction.
