Default Half N Half vs. Heavy Cream

Ok on my 5th day of induction and have a question regarding coffee creamer. Before Atkins I used Fat Free Half n Half. I know I cannot use it anymore because it has cornstarch. However, I have tried heavy cream and cannot stomach it. It leaves a horrible slimy film on the top of my coffee. Can I use original half and half? Please help???

Hey jmommy,

I've used Half n' Half all throughout extended induction and have seen great results. Recently, however, I switched to Light Cream (something we have here in Canada), though, because it's a little lighter on the bowels and has less grams of carbs per mL [I'm a heavy creamer].

(Half n' Half here has 1g for 15 mL, whereas Light Cream has 1g for 30 mL.)

Half and half is not allowed during Induction, because it's half milk. Milk is only allowed from OWL Rung 2 on.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"
