Exclamation Cake binge PLEASE HELP!!!!

Ok I'm out of control!!! Oficially!! I started atkins on 5/6 so far 26.5 lbs off and 38 inches. I've made it through a tough break up and did fine. I've let myself have a few illegal foods here and there, like 1 small piece of cake on my birthday, and one piece of pizza crust and all about a month ago. Neither derailed me, and I stayed in ketosis. BUT THIS WEEKEND WAS A DISASTER!!! I bought a birthday cake for a friend who was staying for the weekend and I swear I ate half the cake myself in the course of 2 days. Then I woke up having a panic attack this morning and was in the bathroom all morning!! Then I proceded to make oatmeal choc chip cookies for the kids and I lost count after 5 cookies but I think I ate about 9!!!! I then came to my senses and put the cookie in my hand in the trash and grabbed the pepperoni! I swear sugar is like crack! (not that I have ever done crack but I liken the addiction to sugar to that of a drug addiction). I don't even know what got in to me!!!! Self sabotage seems to get me when I get close to my goal EVERYTIME! My goal is 165 , I'm at 178. HELP I NEED SUPPORT!!

Hi vamps-n-tramps

You say you need support, so my suggestion is try logging on here before you eat all that rubbish! No one can help you after the event can they? what's done is done. So just what do you want people to do? Beat you up? I suspect you are doing that enough to yourself. Tell you off? what would that acheive? No I suggest you put it behind you and try and solve why you sabotage yourself near goal based on the last line of your post this isn't the first time.

I agree that you ought to take some time and think hard about what is going on the last couple of days to make you turn to sweets....has something happened? Could you subconsciously be nervous about getting to goal and being that person you have been dreaming of?

Nothing really happened, i guess i'm beyond bored with my meals!! i have a limited selection due to serious food allergies (not nuts of any kind, no sea food or fish!) im tired of meat and cheese and salads!!!!! yeah i guess that is what it is.

Being bored is one of the reasons NOT to be in induction. This is when you should start to climb the carb ladder. Start by adding more veggies and go from there - respecting your allergies of course.

Vamps, lots of people have food allergies. Some are very content with the same few foods day in and day out. I'm a foodie with a very strict allowable food list because of IC.

As I see it, food boredom is NOT an option! It does mean that I have to work harder than a lot of folks when coming up with my menus. It was very tedious at first but does become easier. I continually browse recipes and read the recipe suggestions here and make necessary adjustments.

Just a thought....

Oh vamps-n-tramps......I feel ya. My son has mint choc chip ice cream in the freezer and that is all I am thinking about!!! My husband and I have been on Induction for 1 week now and I've lost almost 7 lbs, and him 5lbs...and guess what?!?!? We ate 2, yes 2 bowls of ice cream each on Sat. night, and look we still lost weight!!! I know it's so hard, food is an addiction, it's my addiction, and it's just really hard!!! I've only been doing Atkins a week and I'm already bored and sickened out by eggs and cheese, but I NEED to do it, I NEED to lose weight. I know what you did makes you feel terrible and guilty, but it's done and over with now, it is what is is and just move on. Start over today!!!! You are SO close to your goal, what 13lbs...OMG YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!! Like what Dorie says in Finding Nemo " just keep swimmin', just keep swimmin'" you are almost there!!!! =)

With only 13 lbs left to lose, you should immediately move to OWL. The last 5-10 lbs are meant to be lost in Pre-Maintenance, so you need to climb the Carbohydrate Ladder, find your CCLL and your triggers before you reach those last 5-10 lbs. Progressing through all the phases of the diet is essential in learning how to maintain your weight loss. I've seen members who had lost an enormous amount of weight just to put it all back because they never moved out of Induction. Do yourself a favor and don't repeat their mistake.

And as Liv said, OWL will give you more food choices too: more veggies, fresh cheeses, yogurt, milk, nuts, berries, etc.
