Default Sick of eggs!

Hi everyone,

I try to mix my menu up as much as possible however eggs in the morning have been a constant. I so sick of them.... just the smell of eggs at this point makes me want to hurl. Could anyone recommend another breakfast to me?

Stalled but holding strong,

AlieKatt

I love eggs - they are so versatile. Omelette, scramble (with all kinds of different goodies) quiche (have you make the crustless quiche yet? It is great.

And then there are egg creams. Some egg-dislikers really think egg creams hit the spot. We had this thread discussing various recipes:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...breakfast.html (eggnog shake for breakfast!!!)

But if you need to take a break from it, do it. You still need something savory for breakfast so left overs are good.
or perhaps the Moch Danish. Some people really like that one.

When you move up OWL you will have more options. I ate eggs less on OWL.

I love fritattas. When they are fresh, they are fluffy like a normal omelet. Once it cools, it deflates and becomes a lot more dense. I love eating them cold as you can eat it with your hands. That difference alone helps me when I get sick of eggs.

I have leftovers for breakfast a lot. Mr. Ski thought this was pretty weird at first until one time he looked over and saw my German meatballs. He looked down at his little bowl of cheerios and asked, "Do you have any more...for me???"

Some tasty non-egg breakfasts that we have often:

Boneless pork chops (grilled in the Foreman grill) and some pumpkin with a little butter and dash of cinnamon. A drizzle of sugar free maple syrup over both is very tasty.

Chicken or turkey sausage (easy to make your own patties but check ingredients if you buy them) and some radish home fries.

Chile relleno casserole or Mockafoni and Cheese (leftover from a prior day's lunch) are also yummy non-traditional breakfast fare. Think out of the box for breakfast! It doesn't have to be just eggs.

Thank you all! Looking forward to trying left overs and the fritta. Radish fries sound cool too. Appreciate it!

Here is the recipe for Mock Danish -- one of my favorites. I have one in the afternoon as a little treat once in awhile.

Mock Danish
one serving

2 oz cream cheese (2)
1 large egg, beaten(0.6)
1 packet Splenda(1)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract(0.3)

Put cream cheese in a small, microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high for about 1 minute or until softened. Remove from microwave. Stir in the egg, Splenda and vanilla extract into the cream cheese. Put back into microwave and cook on high for 2 minutes.

Total carbs: 3.9 grams
Fiber: 0 grams
Net carbs: 3.9 grams
Cheese allowance: 2
Sweetener allowance: 1

*Note: Cream cheeses vary in carb count. So be sure to check your packages. Also note that some people add a tablespoon of fiber supplement to their Mock Danish to give it a more "bready" (sturdy) texture. If you do this, you MUST include the the fiber supplement carbs.
