Default Anyone ever hear about Isopure Zero Carb protein powder?

I went to another forum to ask about any zero carb protein powder and people said this was good. There are a lot of flavors, too. Mmmm. I'm going to start making shakes with this. Can't wait!!

Default Re: Anyone ever hear about Isopure Zero Carb protein powder?

From what I understand most protein powder is made from whey...and even though is may say 0 carbs, it is probably a rounding issue (less than .5 carbs round down). Also, I would suspect that there is some sort of sweetener which is a known staller for many......Since whey is dairy it should not be used until OWL Rung 2 (Dairy).

If someone else knows of a true zero carb protein powder please chim in....

BTW---I looked up ISOPURE and found a protein drink, Isopure Plus, (http://www.isopureplus.com/zero_carb.html) but they do not list the sweetener type...good luck.

It looks like the Isopure that you are talking about is from Nature's Best and uses Sucralose which is a safe sweetener...but I would still think they are rounding down the carb count...and again since it is made from a dairy product (whey) it should probably wait until OWL rung 2...but thanks for the info...I may try it when I get to that rung.

Whey protein isolated generally do not have a lot of carb because the process removed all lactose from the product and just leave the protein.

Because it is an isolate it would be OK on induction but you will probably see some people suggest that is better to rely on whole foods.

That one is sweetened with Splenda as Carrie says - so you should know how well you do with splenda before you jump into it. It is prizy. If you are looking for another good one (but with 1 carb per serving) Jay Robb is a favourite among many people. It is sweetened with Stevia

Shakes I like - don't forget to add fat when you make them and keep an eye on your total protein count of the day - as you will not want to go too high.

So when you say add to add fat...what could I add that would taste good in the shake? Eggs? Cream?

I usually add a TBS of cream to my whey shakes to give them some fat.

Why is it necessary to add fat to a shake? Don't we get enough on Atkins as it is?

It's best to have fat, protein and carb with each meal. Whey shakes do not have any fat so that is why it is added.
