Default Atkins Bars not allowed in Phase 1?

I would like some clarification. I was looking at the atkins site where it shows a sample two week meal plan and a shake and a bar are on every single day? Yet here I am reading that it is not a good thing for induction. I have had my weight loss stalled for a whole week and im thinking this is why. Can anyone shed some light on this?

A stall is 4 consecutive weeks with no loss of weight or inches, so you're not stalled. However, many people are stalled by products.

On Atkins, you should focus on eating real food.

It's recommended not to follow the sample menu at Atkins.com (by the way, there are alternatives to products on those menus... eating products is not a MUST). Some menus are low in vegetables, others are low in calories, and some meals are not acceptable on Induction.

It's better to plan your own menus, using the list of foods acceptable on Induction.

as Dr Atkins says in our DANDR some low carb products will be acceptble but we must always follow the rules of the phase we are in so if the ingredients for your bar are induction legal then your bar will be legal.

ANA bases their legality on the number of net effective carbs in a product.

That's not completely true, otherwise some of the Endulge bars would be acceptable on Induction because they have the same number of net carbs as some of the "Induction-legal" Advantage bars.

To be on the safe side, I'd advise trying to stay away from bars and shakes, until you are quite a lot further along your Atkins journey. Atkins Nutritionals have a vested interest in selling the bars, but the truth is that they affect some people negatively when it comes to weight loss. If you stick to fresh and unprocessed foods, in the right combinations and quantities, you can't go wrong.

then they have changed their position because back when the new book menus were first on the website it said products with under 5 effective carbs were okay for induction and the first menu a esron saw had bars and shakes as daily snacks and dessert.

They do make the statement in the book to the effect that low carb products with 3 carb or less is allowed on induction no matter what the ingredients are. (on page 92) so I am not quite sure what is going on with those endulge bars. They are about half the size of the advantage bars and also they do not contain all those additions of vits and minerals that they put in those advantage bars to make them more wholesome. But otherwise is it is sweet syrupy stuff with soy, protein matter and some other ingredients generally that make up the bars.

They all seem like "frankenfood" to me...with all the wonderful REAL food we get to eat, I haven't found a need for them. Plus when I'd eaten them in the past, I noticed I thought about sweets a lot more...
