Someone called ME Skinny!??!

Just had to share this one!

I stopped into Blimpie between job #1 & job #2 to get something for dinner. I checked out their Blimpie Carb Counter menu, and ordered. This guy next to me is checking out the sandwich she's making for me (8 net carbs, thank you very much!). He asks what it is - and she says "It's low carb". The guy says, "It looks good, but I don't need to lose weight". I respond "Well, I do, and it looks pretty good to me too."

Now, get this...the girl behind the counter says, "I hate it when SKINNY people say they need to lose weight!" Now this girl was not nearly as big as I USED to be, and I guess it was kind of rude to say something like that to a customer...but I WAS SOOOO THRILLED that she called me SKINNY!

All I could say in response was, "Darlin', I lost 75 pounds doing "low carb".

Her jaw dropped to the floor, and all she could say in response was, "FOR REAL?"

FOR REAL!!!

One of my new favorites are "you're not planning on losing anymore are you...you're getting too thin". I know that isn't really true, have a few more lbs to go but sounds great to hear it.

That's so awesome. I have a dear friend that lost 69 pounds doing WW... and I was the first person to call her skinny.

I said, "Oh my goodness Amy - you're skinny...and you have a collarbone." Then I turned to her I-used-to-be-the-skinniest-until-Amy-lost-weight-"friend" and said, "Amber, I want a collarbone like Amy's"

Amy e-mailed me the next day and said, she was floored because I was the first person to call her skinny - in her entire life....and then I told her that reading that made me want to cry - and she wrote back that it did maker her cry. She's amazing, size 18 to a size 8...heading towards 6

Anyway - congrats on YOUR skinny comment...

hey I get almost the same reply except mine is "You're starting a diet? What? You're not even fat" I guess people say this because they have never seen me bigger than my current weight which they still seem to think is thin. Im 5'7 160 pounds(MALE) i just started my first diet(atkins) today and I see myself as big. Even tho they mean it as an inslut, I take it as a compliment. :wave
