I LOVE IT!! You didn't let that nay-sayer get to you! Good job. I am a nurse (stay-at-home mom/transcriptionist now) and worked for a GI group for five years. Our physicians advised overweight people who came in with problems due to weight (GERD, etc.) to eat low-carb. The AMA touts low-carb as one of the healthier diets out there and they are in talks to "re-write" the whole food triangle that lists breads/grains as the most important. Tell that "nurse" to put that in her pipe and smoke it. She was probably 90 years old and went to nursing school via horse-drawn buggy. Or, she graduated at the bottom of her class!

congrats on your success with this WOE. It's hard for medical "experts" to deny that something is being done right when your tests show how well everything is running inside. Keep it up :clapping

Well, it was time to see the wellness nurse here at work again...the one who trashed Atkins last time. As soon as I went in, she asked me if I was still doing Atkins. This is how the conversation went: Her: "Are you doing "real" Atkins where you don't eat any fruit and you eat all that fatty bacon and sausage?" Me: "I'm now in OWL and I eat berries several times a week. Yes I eat bacon several times a week as well, but I also eat flax cereal or eggs several times a week too." Her: "Hmph. Well, let's hop on the scale and see how you're doing. WOW! You've lost 19 pounds! I'm sure a lot of that was fluid. Let's test your body fat. WOW! You're down almost 3% overall! I would have expected more for that amount of weightloss. Let's test your fitness level. WOW! You went from "fair" to "average"...we want to see that up to "good" next time. Let's check your blood pressure. WOW! 114/72 down from 128/76! Well, whatever you're doing, it's working. Keep it up and we'll see you in October..." Me: Atkins ROCKS! :yes
