Hello and thank you for this board. I know the support of others will help get me through this. I'm on my 5th day of induction and all is going well. My wife and I are both doing this, so there is good support at home.

I'm 47, 6'6" and (was) 310 lbs. when I started. I've tried every diet imaginable over the years. Lost a lot...gained even more. Became type II diabetic several years ago and have struggled to control my blood sugar. No complications yet, but I know they are coming if I don't get it under control. I hate the medications.

I have read the Atkins book several times and consider it my bible for now. Just moved my son in to his college dorm tonight, climbing 3 flights of stairs a dozen times with armloads of stuff. I must say that I did notice the diffference even 5 days has made. More energy, less tired.

Well anyway...here I am.
