Actually, noone is ganging up on you. We may not be saying it right, but the idea we're trying to convey is that vegetables are an important part of Atkins, and we do not want you to be misguided by a couple of people who aren't following the Atkins Plan.

Okay, now let me respond to you, afterall it IS your thread

Great job on your loss so far. If you're not used to eating many veggies, it can be pretty easy to incorporate them into things you already eat. next time you eat a steak, sautee some mushrooms or onions and put it on top, or just have it with a few slices of tomato. Also, its pretty painfree and delicious to toss whatever veggies you want into eggs.

don't continue to use laxitives for too long or you'll become dependant

use psyllium husk. It always works for me. just toss 1-2 tbsp in a glass of water and knock it back (before the seed fills with water and becomes the consistancy of applesauce)

Flaxseed works good too,for regularity, and if you own a microwave (I don't) you can try a "muffin in a minute" that everyone raves about. imagine a muffin with your eggs Just be sure to drink plenty of water. Fiber can either loosen you up or plug you up (from lack of fluid)

We are not being negative and we are not ganging up on you. We old timers can tell you don't know much about the true Atkins diet, and we want to help you while you are new at it. The first two weeks are very important and doing it wrong can make you fail and give up. We have seen so many people do the 'diet' the way the public thinks it's done, the way that gives it such a bad name, and we here that follow the Good Doctor's advice by the book (2002 version) have a lot of experience with losing a lot of pounds at the same time we are getting much healthier.

You really need to read the book. Dr. Atkins spent over 40 years perfecting this way of living, and you need to understand what it is really about to take advantage of his expertise. Losing a bunch of pounds over a few days is not always healthy and that is not what you want to accomplish over the long term. You want to burn fat and preserve muscle. You want to improve your blood lipids. You want to break bad habits and food addictions. You want to get past cravings. You can only do that by doing the diet right. It really isn't a diet--it's a way of life.

You can still ask all the questions you want, even after reading the book. We are here to support you, but we can't condone what we don't believe in.

Best of luck in the rest of your journey. Come over to the induction thread and join in with others that are on the same phase that you are.

Sunny!

This is the recipe I've seen. Others may have other variations.

Quote:
Serving Size: 1

1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 packet splenda packet
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 large egg
1 teaspoon butter

Put the dry ingredients in a coffee mug. Or a bowl for a different shape.

Stir.

Then add the egg and the butter. Mix.

Microwave 1 minute (or more). Take out. slice, butter, eat. Set mug to soak immediately.

Cream cheese would go nicely, too.

Notes: 1.5 net carbs.
