| Thanks Lisa and Misplaced Southerner! Yes, it takes motivation and work... but you know... it is SOOOOooo worth it. That day that you step on the scale, and look into the mirror and actually take those fat goggles off... it's just an awesome experience. When you take a look and don't see "ThickRick" anymore... well, it's just a feeling that only those of us that have lived in a heavy world can understand. That being said, I don't know that I'll ever truly lose those fat goggles... and, maybe that's a good thing now, because I don't want to ever go back to where I started. I know that I still have work to do, trying to make myself comfortable in the OWL and maybe Maintenance levels. I have lived in induction and extended induction for a long time ,but this time I did at least go through some of the rungs of OWL, and feel more confident that I'll be able to live with that. Thanks so much to everyone at this site, as it was my beginning in this journey. It's a great place, and I would love to know how many people have reached goal while being here... and just how much is that worth??? Thanks Tom. |

| Tom- Thanks for sharing your big success! Being from Missouri, you certainly have Showed Yourself and Us! Please keep posting and help us when we get to our goals i.e. staying there rather than falling back. Thanks. Glenn PS: What goals do you have for yourself now?

Glenn, my goals are very simple... I want to keep my weight and size at this level or maybe even smaller for the rest of my life. I know that it's not an easy thing, or I would have never been oversize to start with. I've reached my "goal", and am ecstatatic about that, but I really would love to make it on down to 180. I won't obsess about that one, and if I don't reach it, that's ok. I'm very very happy with where I am now. My friends and family just can't believe the change. Actually, thinking more about that question... I really think that my goal is to get into even better shape. I love cycling, have a great new road bike, and for an over 50 guy, I feel pretty darn good these days. I'd like to take a road trip on it next year. I ride about 20 miles at a time right now, on some nice Missouri hills, but would like to do a week or so trip to some of the nice small communities around here and just enjoy it for what it is. I'm just glad that I'm healthy enough now to even consider it. Thanks for asking. Rick |
