| Hi, I have been on atkins for three weeks and have only lost eight pounds. I haven't cheated either, counting carbs (no more than 25 a day) and carbs come from vegetables. I am going to cut back on the atkins meal bars and look at my fat intake which might help. Choosing leaner meats and staying away from the 200 plus meal bars might help. I hope this works. I feel its a lot of sacrafice for little weight. Also I need to start working out again. So maybe this will help for you, not sure. Tanya |

| Double your doing awesome and 20 pounds is something to really cheer about. Stay off the scales for awhile. Remember, during this time when our weight doesn't seem to be dropping, the inches are. Don't ask me to explain, my sage and guru 2big explained it to me 100 times but I still don't get it. Remember those jeans...the ones you had to lie down on the bed to button, try em on and see how they fit. That will make you feel like dancing |

| Thanks, it is just frustrating. It has been almost three weeks stuck back and forth in the same 1/2 lb. It has got to move again soon or I may just fall off.

| Scott, I find when I up my water and drop the sodas that can often shift things. By upping water I mean 64 oz + a day. A week of that and you may see a couple of pounds fall off. You will also be retaining less water since your sodium intake will be lower. Hang in there. |

| Thanks Jill. I'm not drinking as much water as I should. I just signed up for 64oz a day Feb challange to hopefully get it in gear. Also, I know I need to kick up the exercise. It is hard being honest with yourself when you went from eating everything you wanted all the time to eating much less food and restricting your choices so much. You tend to think that just by the sheer magnitude of doing that alone weight should be falling off. But it is much more than that isin't it. Ironic, it comes on so fast and easy with no rules, it comes off slow and hard with many rules. I'm hanging in there...like a hanging chad in the 2000 election, refusing to give up!

| *cheers* DONT GIVE UP SHNOOKIE! i havent cheated at all yet. It's been just a smidge over a month, but i am just looking back at how hard i've worked, and as you say, look at what you've given up for this. The closer you get, even if it's just ten pounds, that's ten pounds you worked really hard to get rid of. As my sister would say to me, "the cheesecake isn't going anywhere, it'll taste better when you don't want the whole thing." She's right about that. I work nights, and everyone i work with tries to get me to eat bad things, cause fast food is king here. But i stay strong, and tell them that when they get fatty fat, and i'm in my skinny jeans that'll be nicer than they're lame bread nonsense. |
