Cool Still Losing - 27.5 lbs

On June 24th I weighted 166.6lbs. The weight gain was because my relationship which was for 11 years ended. Which sent me into a depressed mode and I do mean depressed. So it was on this day that I said enough is enough. I started Atkins and I am happy to say that when I weighted myself on July 24th one month into doing Atkins my weight is now 139.1 lbs. Total lost 27.5. I went from a size 16 to a size 10. I've joined the gym because I now need to tone up my thighs and arms. I've bought skinny jeans and skinny dresses. Depressed what's that. I now have a new attitude. I actually went down to 134lbs but since the weight loss I have met a new friend who likes to take me out to eat. I have to watch that. If you have a Bob Evans in your area one of my favorite meals is the Cobb Salad. My menu for this whole month has been eggs/egg whites, bacon, lots of salmon, and Cobb salads, jalapeno cheese and brocolli and green beans and sometimes pork chops but mainly salmon. No fried food at all. Oh by the way when you go to Bob Evans request them not to bring you any bread because if they bring the bananna bread it's all over. My goal weight is 135 so I only need to lose 4lbs more. Alot of my friends are now asking me what diet are you on and I tell them Atkins. But they aren't discipline enough to hang in there to see the results. I also need to be truthful, sometimes I am sooo happy I have a mess up day because my mind tells me it won't hurt. I love pancakes so that is what I ususally have. But you best of believe that it is only 1 day. So I am a happy camper to say the least. One draw back I had to buy new clothes but hey when I look into the mirror who cares

There are a couple legal pancake recipes out there...depending what rung you are on (your profile still says 14-day induction). You can get sugar-free syrup to go with them

Oh I forgot to include that when I want something really sweet I eat Atkins Caramel Double Crunch Bars. It is really good. So if I can't or don't feel like fixing breakfast or lunch I eat a Atkins bar, a piece of cheese and 16oz of water. I purchase the bars at Walmart. The price is much lower there. I've also found out that if I drink diet soda's the weight loss is slow but if I drink water I lose it faster. So I limit my soft drinks. I tried sugar free syrup but my taste buds realized that it wasn't the real thing.

Congrats on your weight loss.

why aren't you eating any fried food? Atkins is a high fat way of eating....you don't seem to have much variety - and I see you are on induction - with only 6 pounds to go before you hit your goal you aren't giving yourself enough time to go through the rungs slowly enough to know which foods will cause trouble and which ones will be ok for you on maintenance - or are you planning to quit when you hit your goal?

I'm happy you have lost the weight but it doesn't seem you have followed the plan correctly. You need to start up the rungs as soon as possible. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...te-ladder.html (The OWL Carbohydrate Ladder)

The bars and shakes aren't legal for induction -- you should be eating real foods not processed foods.

Good luck.

One of the things that really helped me and also motivated me was that I pulled from my closet some of my favorite old clothes and jeans that I use to wear and placed them on the outside of my bedroom door. And as the weight continued to drop I would try on the clothes on the door to see if they would fit. When I could fit them I would put them in the closet with the new clothes that I have bought. Right now I have one more dress that I use to wear hanging on the door. I figure if I rev up the exercising I will be in that dress soon. Yesterday, the men at work called "Ms. Twiggy". Wanted to know what I am doing. I said Atkins of course! Stick with the acceptable foods and I love the Atkins bars when I want something sweet! Continue your journey on Atkins it really works.

If you purchase the Atkins products it will tell you what phase the bars can be used for. Inside the box is also a list of acceptable foods for each phase. That is what I used. Are you saying the Atkins products are wrong on what you can eat during different phases, bars included. I'm not quite sure about the shakes. I don't do shakes. I've been on Atkins before many years ago. I know about the phases. I prefer not to eat fried food. For me baking and grilling is much better. Also as I introduce the foods back I know what foods bring the weight back on. I also continue with my portions. I eat out alot so I only eat half of the meal that is brought to me and I eat the other half for breakfast or for lunch.

The Atkins shakes and bars are not legal on induction – they have non-induction ingredients in them and they are not listed on the acceptable food list.

Bob Evans...yup, banana bread. You are doing great. It must be an awful experience having a relationship end after 11 years. Sorry, I bet it hurt. You really have done great, my congratulations.
About the bars, if you are losing and only have to go 4 lb, I don't see why they would hurt. I would presume that an Atkins bar would be least stalling than banana bread. Everybody's metabolism is some what different.
