| Sweetheart, if you are only in high school, you are fairly young (at least compared to me) so please don't panic. When you stopped playing sports you may have gained a little weight and that caused the stretch marks. I don't know what else would cause stretch marks. Well --- there are firming creams on the market that can help. Just look in your local stores. Also, exercise will help tighten or firm you up. Also, stretch marks will fade with time. After you use the cream and start exercising again, time is your best friend. Don't worry!!! I bet you are so beautiful. I wish I could see you so I could reassure you. Please don't worry about this. Just look at others that have handicaps and be thankful you are healthy and only have stretch marks to worry about. Keep your chin up. It WILL get better.

| Also, if modeling is what you want, go for it! Everything is airbrushed in magazines anyways, and they can adjust the lighting and whatnot to hide the stretch marks. So don't let that hold you back!!! Everyone's got 'em, don't let them get ya down! Alayna |

| Everyone's right. Don't worry about them. You have much more to do and look forward to, don't waste your time with something that's not important! I got really bad stretch marks while I was pregnant, and they were reddish or purple. Now about two years later thay have faded and you can barely see them. I've also heard about a cream called Mederma that supposedly helps reduce the apprearance of stretch marks. I know you can find it at Walgreens. Haven't tried it, but thought I'd inform you! Just don't let them hold you back from doing things you want to do! Erin

hormones are also a factor. It's very common for girls to get stretch marks during puberty, skinny or not. You typically get them on your inner thighs and hips. While they're still pink (before they turn white), you can go to a Dermatologist to get them "almost" errased, they become hardly noticeable. Now that you know that you DO get stretch marks, you should use the cream that was mentioned earlier, all the time. And if you want to try out modelling, just go for it. Ever photo is airbrushed these days. Good luck!

| I have a VERY slim sister (like size 1) and while going through high school she even got stretch marks. Part of what happens is hormones develop your body in odd places- hips, thighs, boobs, arms, stomach, etc. When they do this they create stretch marks on virtually everyone (if there is a woman out there without them prove me wrong!!!!). Dont worry about creams and etc, stretch marks are very natural and I promise you even super models have them- they even have cellulite! Spend your money elsewhere, and maybe take up a hobby to boost your self esteem and get your mind off your (natural) stretch marks! OH, and an afterthought- tanned stretch marks are more concealed them pasty ones! |

| NATNAT~ I am a perfect example of why you are wrong and shouldn't be hard on yourself. I too have stretch marks (along with probably half of all Americans) and I have been able to model in the past. There is a lot more to modeling then just running down the run way. In fact doing runway is not what you want to do anyway. Did you see the Victoria Secret Show? My god those women were way too skinny and gross looking. I would never want to get myself into runway because that is the kind of competition you will find yourself in. It's very unhealthy. Well back to what I was saying before. You can model in many different ways without showing any stretch marks. So do not be hard on yourself. Also they are probably not from gaining weight. I got mine when I went through a growing spurt in and around the same time that you received your. Don't worry girl.

| When I was 18, I got pregnant. I gained 80 lbs! I got stretch marks on my stomach, legs, breasts, inner - outer - back thighs, and rear end. I was horrified. I'm almost 40, I'm still horrified, but looking back, I don't think many people noticed them the way I did. I think they bothered me more then anybody else even noticed. I don't think other people look that close. We are much too critical of ourselves. Maybe someday stretch marks will be fashionable! LOL

| Hey Girl, when i was in high school i had a problem with my breast, they were uneven. so i had them fixed, the doctor had to put an implant that can be increased in size to streach the skin, anyhow, he said that after all of this was done, i would have lots of streach marks, and to use vitamin e oil everyday...i'm not saying that they went away over night cause they didn't, but after a year of putting it on every morning, that have. i also used it on my shoulders, and my hips...if you do it everyday it will work!
