Default Any success stories after a real slow start?

I've been on the diet for 6 weeks. I lost 6 pounds during the 1st 2 weeks of induction and then everything slowed down. For the next 4 weeks I've only lost 2 pounds. I'm doing the diet by the book, exercising, supplements and tons of water so I know it's just me.

It would be real, real helpful if I could hear about some successes from people who started out slow, but eventually saw some real changes.

Please?

Thanks!!

I'm about the same weight as you are. I have lost 26 pounds in a little less than 3 months. Sometimes my weight goes up and down 5 pounds and then that 5 pounds will just go away. This week I didn't lose anything, but I feel smaller. Not really sure if that means I'm gaining muscle or what. Don't be discouraged. As long as the weight is on a downward slope, you will be fine. If you are getting tired of the same food (like I have), try something different. I've been eating celery w/ cream cheese, pickles, sugar free jello. In the past I was eating different flavored cheeses, pepperoni in the microwave, and brisket. I still eat my 3 cups of greens.
You will be surprised that if you keep up the good work, you could possible lose 5 pounds in 1 week! Stick with it and you will be so proud of yourself. It always remotivates me to read the stories on this web site and to also re-read the Atkins books. I used to wear a size 18 or 16 in August of this year. I just put on my size 10 pants that I wore 5 years ago. Try on clothes!!

I am having the same problem as you. I have more weight to lose. I've been on the diet for almost three weeks. I lost 7 pounds the first week and 2 the next week, but for the past six days I have seen no weight lose at all. Hope it will soon pick up

Mindy....it has taken me a year to lose 30 lbs. I am thrilled that 30 lbs no longer hang out on my body, but it took a year. I wasn't strict the whole time, but I did exercise a lot. I would be really good for a few weeks then bad for a few weeks and so on and so on. Some people are slow losers whether they do really well or cheat. Everyone is different, but the more (and the longer) you stay on plan the quicker you will lose....

good luck

You're doing great!

First off, don't measure your success by the scale alone. How are you feeling? Sleeping? More energy? What are your measurements compared to before you started?

There's a whole lot more to Atkins than a number on the scale. The scale lies; clothes do not.
