Default Good thing I don't rely on someone else to compose my menu

Just for fun, I checked out the menu planning section of Chatelaine Magazine, under the "Smart Carb" heading : I put this in the Maintenance forum, because I want to make sure that nobody thinks this is good for Induction!!

http://www.chatelaine.com/foodrecipe...48_6356&page=2

This is Monday's Menu, as an example: I've added comments and highlights

Breakfast
½ cup (125 mL) of milk
1 cup (250 mL) of oatmeal (made with ½ cup of milk), sprinkled with 1 tbsp (15 mL) of sunflower seeds, 1 tbsp (15 mL) of raisins and 1 tsp (5 mL) of brown sugar I don't care what anyone says - sugar just is wrong
1 boiled egg

Snack
3 crackers, 2 slices of cheddar cheese
1 peach

Lunch
1 pita pocket with 3 oz (75 mL) of canned pink salmon, 1 ½ tbsp (22.5 mL) of light mayo, dill and green onions to taste and 1 tbsp (15 mL) of your favourite salad dressing (which could be VERY high in carbs if you're not careful. Hopefully by Maintenance, you know better as to what to choose)
½ cup (125 mL) of baby carrots (I'd replace with turnip sticks, daikon, jicima, or even snow peas, as a personal preference)
½ cup (125 mL) of pepper slices
½ cup (125 mL) of zucchini sticks
2 tbsp (30 mL) of vegetable dip (better make your own to be safe)
1 tangerine

Snack
½ cup (125 mL) of toasted soy nuts

Dinner
1 cup (250 mL) of milk
Barbecued chicken fajitas—1 fajita
Dressy barbecued asparagus—2 servings

Day Total: 111 g carbs. Some people can have lots of carbs once in maintenance, while others still have to maintain low levels for health reasons. YMMV

well that sugar is sugar I agree with but the carrots are okay as Dr Atkins pointed out the GI testing uses enough carrots for 5 sevings not one which is why I love his AFL AGR lists for veggies.

the pita could be okay if it was whole grain

the recipes looked good except the light stuff and then the flour tortillas

I could eat 110 net carbs doing OWl and lose but not those 110 carbs.

EDIT
