OK, I know many of you post all over the board, but I'm hoping to get some action going in this forum too

I am not at goal yet, but I am very close, 3-6 lbs depending on the day, and can't wait to post here with GOALIE friends.

It's so unbelieveable. Even though my progress has always been fine, never discouraging, I still really don't think I thought I'd get here! But here we are! And learning how to eat and feel, it feels so great. I wish people who consider Atkins "restrictive" realize that if you follow it all the way through, you truly are eating exactly what you want to eat at the "end" of the journey. I am still not really sure what my CCCL or ACE is because when I eat exactly what I want, and enough to get me full, not stuffed, I can't really GET it above 40-50 carbs/day. The couple times I've been up over 80-90, I still lose lbs and/or inches that week, but those are just a day here and there.

I guess I'm just bragging there, to people I know will understand Look forward to getting to know some of you better here!

Congrats on coming so far Msnicksmom... and on nearly reaching goal. Just a last little push and you'll be there... or should I say "here"! Looking forward to the day you make it!

You might like to think about joining the goalie's exercise challenge soon (is it a challenge? We do our stuff exercisewise, without really committing to a hard and fast target, but give each other lots of support...)

Happy last losing... then happy maintaining!
Sal

sneaking in to the maintnenance forum heheheehe

try using some of your veggie carbs as a sauce or use the higher carb upper rung foods as some of your carbs. grains and starchie veggies can rack up big numbers for little servings.

Good morning friends!!! So good to see you. Heidi, I am so glad you are back, your light and insights and humor and enthusiasm were very missed! As a new goalie, I would love to hear how you made it through the stress, the flight and the wedding itself and still fit in to your dress (assuming a dress).

Fawn, you are one of the longest goalie's I've seen, congratulations! I would love to hear how your life has changed from 7 years ago to now, and also if you still consider yourself a "low carber". I ask because "low" is so subjective. I eat low carb compared to mainstream, but still between 50-70/day, which feels like a ton of carbs when they are good ones.

I am wavering between 136-139, TOM due Sat, humidity, vacation and new exercise routine all play a part. I'm not making a last push, though, just doing what I'm doing and waiting for the number to change for now. Slow is good.

Have a great day friends, and thanks again for supporting this post!

Hugs
Denise

I have learned this week that my coping skills suck and bread is not the answer!!!!

so today I did a ton of yard work allready and am fine and back on track ..I seem to be able to recoup very quickly when I back slide ..and it is very rare I do that ..this week put me righ over the edge

I love the food I eat and am so happy with a huge plate of roasted fresh veggies and melted provelone cheese with cherries from my tree that even my lapse with the bread in Providence ( I usually avoid white foods like sugar refined flour rice ect)..was not enough to make me change my mind and continue down that path again....

I did feel physically crappy after eating the bread ....seriously it does kind of give you a carbo coma....

Hi denise
Yep I'm an official low carber. But I'm also a health nut (or so they call me at work) my bumber stickers on my car read:
eat well feel well
health nut
I generally eat anywhere from 50-100gr a day. I start with hold on to your panties here
in my vitamix
1 cup raw spinach
1 oz. broccoli sprouts
2 leaves of raw kale
1/2 c plain full fat yogurt
1/2 c aloe juice
4 frozen strawberries
1/4 c blueberries
1/2 apple
1/2 orange with about 2 inches of peel (helps cholesteral which I have a family history)
1 scoop hemp protein powder
1 tbs. chlorella
2 tbs. flax meal

In the late afternoon I blend
6 fresh strawberries
1 cup spinach
1/2 apple
1 tbs. peanut butter sf of course!

And I eat two protein meals a day. Lunch is generally tuna, chicken salad, a big caeser salad or cobb.......dinner is some form of meat and a veggie.
I don't eat anything pre-packaged
I don't drink soda diet or otherwise (phophoric acid depletes your bones of calcium) teenagers should be banned from this stuff!

And I try to make sure that all of my food has been either grown organic, free range and in humane manners.
I will stand up for this belief for as long as I live.
The more fruit and veggies I eat, the better I feel.
