| Whole grains are grains that do not have their germ or seed coat stripped off during the processing procedure. The labeling laws in the US have guidelines for what can be called a "100%" whole grain product. So read those labels very carefully. Grains include: Amaranth, Barley, Wheat, Rye, Oats, Quinoa, Teff, Tricale, Spelt, Corn, and Buckwheat. If you are pregnant, I would suggest that you read "Atkins for Life" and ask your OB/Gyn for a referral to a dietician.
