| I would think that if you are already at your CCLL and doing a 'modified owl' by swapping out your 5 net carbs rather than adding them, then there shouldn't bee too much difference for you for premaintenance. Though I notice you have a OWL rung 8 blinkie in your sig, so guess you havent yet tried what grains do to your body, so are officially still on OWL. I suppose for premaintenance you could try larger portions of the rung foods gradually and see if there is a limit to the quantity of them you can eat and still lose.

| I've wondered what the difference is too because I'm losing less than a pound a week on rung 7. It may be because we are both 5'2 so we can't eat as much as taller people, but I don't know for sure. I averaged out my carbs for a week awhile back and I was maintaining at 43 carbs a day. I cut back for a few weeks and lost 3 more pounds, now I'm maintaining at that weight (16 I ate some meatloaf that had breadcrumbs in it but it didn't seem to bother me at all. I think I will never go back to grains though, especially pasta, because I know that would be the end for me. They are so addictive to me that I don't want anything to do with them. There is apparently a very thin line between the rungs and pre-maintenance so it's just a matter of finding our CCLL and staying wherever that happens to be. I hope this helps. |

| Thanks for the info guys. I like the idea Elizellen of trying larger portions. I guess pre-maintenance is about finding all your boundaries and limits and possibilities. I just have to put my mind to it. So much have been focused on losing the last year. Thanks for charing Nyna. I was "maintaining" at around 40-45 carbs for a while too. Months actually before I decided it was time to face up to the fact that I had to go lower to lose. I am not cutting calories however. I keep an eye on them so I do not overeat but I don't really focus on them.
