Yay! Glad to see someone replied and is looking to join. I've done this before, last summer I went hardcore and managed to get down to a decent size but I didn't appreciate it as I realize now I should have. I ended up going on a trip and completely going off the plan, and school started and blah just a bunch of nothing happpend. Anyways I'm looking to do this for the long haul this time! Good luck with your first day!

hey guys I'd like to join your little support group too. I need to lose about 20 pounds possibly more. I just finished my freshman year of college and found myself weighing a lot more. It really sucks. I guess what they say about the freshman 20 is true. Its just really hard to eat healthy because I live on campus and have a meal plan. I mean I guess its not that hard because they do offer salads but most of their choices are like pizza and hamburgers...and the salads just werent that appetizing

Yay! We've got three of us so far! Alright so how about we give our starting stats, and weigh in each week? How does that sound? I find the more organized and more I keep track of these things, the more inspired I get. Let me know if that sounds good to you both.

Ladies, congrats on being determined! Let me suggest one thing though - believe me I know how rewarding it can be for the scale to move, but take your measurements now and measure as you go along. The scale is just a number, but your measurements don't lie. I know at your age it's hard to commit to exercising, but it will make a difference - a BIG difference in your body. I currently weigh 198 lbs, but I look like I weigh in the 150s. I am wearing sizes I used to wear years ago, when I weighed 30 lbs less than I do now. That's what exercising does for your body. I was a confirmed couch potato and knew when I started Atkins that I wanted to do it all right, so I started moving and haven't stopped since. I feel better now than I can ever remember feeling as an adult. It will also give you a mental lift, especially when you're feeling down. Plan ahead and make sure you have legal foods on hand at all times. If you are going to a party or some place where there will be all sorts of tempting stuff, eat before you go. And don't let others influence you to make poor choices. That can only happen if you let it. And most of all, have fun and remember that the choices you are making now can have a profound affect on your future. Believe me when I tell you that the years go by quickly and if you don't take care of your body, it will start to show it, and you'll start to feel it. Good luck!

Thanks for the great advice. When I said measurements I did indeed mean inches in addition to weight. Also I'm well aware of the wonderful benefits of exercising as I love to swim (I work at a pool), and I love to bike! I'm in the process of looking into a gym membership so I can start lifting. Thanks again for the advice!

| its easier when your out of school... not as much pressure and stupid things that can lead to stressful eating. i broke my diet time after time before i graduated 2 years ago. i got back on it about a month ago and feels great. just remember dont stress were too young for that.

Oh my goodness I totally agree on the easier to do in summer thing! It's so easy to get caught up in school and activities that happen during school to make you lose track. I think the trick is trying to find a routine, I have yet to fine mine but I think thats the trick.
