| welcome to ADBB and to Atkins. As a young still growing and developing person you will need to discuss your weight loss with your doctor. Atkins is healthy. if you read the book and don't believe what you see on tv you will see that from day one you have to eat 3 cups of veggies a day and you have to exercise too. the appetite suppression of the Atkins plan can help big eaters become smaller eaters but if you over eat your Atkins you will not lose weight either. I strongly recommend you go to your library or used book store and get a copy of dR aTKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition and sit down and read it especially chapter 11-14. You will learn why Atkins works and that it isn't an all you can eat cheeseburger no bun plan as depicted on TV. we eat 3 meals with snacks or 5-6 small meals a day of some preotein some healthy fat and some of our carb veggies dueing the first 14 days. then we add back even more of those low glycemic acceptable veggies during the start of the next phase of Atkins. Even if your doctor recommends you do a less restrictive Atkins removing the processed foods from your diet and just having fresh veggies, dairy and proteins should help you shed your excess fat as you mature into an adult. While you are getting your book we have a copy of the rules and acceptable foods lists in our ionduction forums if you'd like to look it over. Happy low carbing.

| im sorry it took me a long time. i was really busy. i dont get motivation with dieting for me. thats why i always fail. i really want to do low carb. im having a bacon stuffed burger today, i cant wait. |

| in order to be successful at anything you need to have internal motivation not external motivation which is why you fail. So write out as list of important to you reasons why you need to lose weight be specific too don't say so I look better say something like so I look good to myself wearing my ( whatever clothes you love that you are too big to wear now cause of your weight) then prioritze your list with whatever is most important to you as number one. Next make copies and post them anywhere you will come into contact with food be it in the car ( sunvisors are great for this), in your house at schiool any where. then every time you are tempted to cheat ask yourself it the temporary pleasure you are about to dervie from eating or drinking that cherating food is more important to you then your lowest ranked reason. DO it for all of them and if you answer yes to them all then go ahead and have it. I'm betting it will not and by the time you have gotten a little bit up the list you will no longer want it. | so you have 1/2 pound of meat at 3 meals and a small potato or rice portion and some fruit from your acceptable food list? worried about your pyruvic acid levles? did you know there is a write up of a lady in CARB SMART who actualy did that one and Atkins and she said Atkins gave her more food choices.
