Dealing......with Life
Posted September 11th, 2008 at 10:21 AM by Cottage
Lots going on with my parents, Dad is hanging in there but Mom needs a sonogram on her leg and neck. She is so feisty
thus difficult to deal with. But we carry on.
I did really well yesterday on my WOL.
Chicken, grapes, walnut salad with poppy seed dressing for lunch. I didn't eat breakfast, that needs to be changed. Then for supper I had lightly BBQ'd pork roast and a medium baked potato.
I enjoyed every moment of that wonderful source of B vitamins and potassium...lol! And two cheese sticks for snacks
I need to eat more than that. Today I'm starting with a protein shake.
Once or twice a week I have a potaoto. Dr. said it was ok. He is on board with Atkins and Low Glycemic eating. I am not to eat wheat products, pasta, breads, etc. No sugar. No Problem! A potato or two a week keeps me on plan and in control.
I can't wait until tomorrow to weigh! I am hoping to have lost another 3 pounds. ONE percent of my weight, roughly.
I am truly getting past the habit of eating sugary things at night. Thank God! I am getting past needing to munch all the time.
When the urges are there I grab a cheese stick. Not my fav but it'll do. Not rewarding that desire will extinguish it. AND knowing I will go see the Doc first of November helps keep me on track.
He is so cool, love that Doc!
I don't think he understands that I Got It when he told me Low Fat was a LIE. I think he expected a shocked reaction. We are on the SAME Page, Doc! And I'll show you the goods November 1st!
And I be off that medication you say I need to take. I'm taking it like a good girl.
I love a challenge. When someone says I can't do something, I have to do it. I don't understand that, it didn't always work for my betterment, but it IS what tends to drive me.
Ya know, it took me a while to get my arms around this Low Glycemic thing. You really have to think it through. You gotta know what you can make to eat in a LG way and STILL enjoy your meal. Or you won't make it!
I learned so much reading The Zone by Dr. Barry Sears. Then I experienced it. That is when I realized what this whole balance and LG eating is about. I like to know WHY. Dr. Sears told me WHY.
Lots to do at the Cottage today and will be out of town tomorrow. I hope to soon share my experience testing The Zone. It was awesome.
Thank you for your encouraging comment!
