We visited our college sons this past weekend. I cooked several meals to put in the freezer for them and we sat down to watch a movie before coming home.

Unfortunately, I Crashed big time! They ordered Chinese, I had some kind of yummy sauce on my chicken and fried rice. Then I finished off the rest of the rice with the yummy sauce and my son passed the sugar biscuits. I stuffed about 4 of those in my mouth. It was heavenly.

Then my arms felts tired in a strange way and I realized it was the wheat. I just don't eat wheat. I have MAYBE a piece of bread a week but generally avoid it. It lasted maybe a minute, just long enough for me to make note of it.

My stomach was a mess, wasn't sure I'd make it home with out stopping. When we got home I had the pleasure of reading the new Better Homes and Garden magazine from the comfort of my toilet. Sorry, TMI...lol!

Then Sunday, all was well until dinner. Hubby fixed me his chicken enchiladas without the tortillas. Gosh was it good! After Saturday's Chinese fiasco my tummy wasn't too happy with the cheesy chicken, so I read Country Living from the comfort of the toilet.

Monday, Ugh! Just protein shakes during the day to keep me from hurling....later, a small tossed ham salad. Then pork Roast and a baked potato for supper.

Getting back to my very real comfort food was difficult in my mind but a relief for my body. It felt good.

Tuesday, I'm alive again! Woo-Hoo!

Large tossed ham salad with olives, forgot my avocado, darn it. Think I'll hard core it until Friday when I have to report my progress. I snuck in and weighed today, still 317.5. Well, that is what it will do to you. Thankfully, I am back on track and didn't gain. This IS a journey to everyday eating. I am learning how to temper nights out with wise decisions and still feel indulged.

I will be better prepared with some walnuts and cheese sticks in my purse next time we go up there. Those biscuts will stay in the box, the rice will be measured to 1/4 cup and that will be satisfying and won't make me sick or stall my weight loss.

I am finding things to do to stay busy without spending money. I am a frugalholic. Went from spending up every credit card we had, lost count of them and then crashed and burned. Now, I manage money quite well. I am applying those same feelings of winning and being in control to this way of eating.

It can be really tough when everyone is at Starbucks and chatting about recreational shopping. Like a drug addict I had to cull my friends.

I learned to save an unbelievable amount shopping for groceries. Now I rarely EVER pay full price for food. It's all in how you look at it. I had to make it a game because I am very competitive. If it is a game, me against them, I'll win. And this way of eating has become a game.

If I eat bad carbs, I loose, they win. I may give up a point or two along the way but I AM WINNING this game! And once the weight loss proves I've won, I'll continue to win each day by the changes I've made.

I may not be gorgeous, I may not be fabulous. I AM trim, healty and have LOTS of energy. That is winning over any stick figure with a Starbucks in one hand and a credit card in the other. I am SO excited to be in CONTROL!! I feel the freedom!

Planning + Preparation = Control Two words I used to hate have saved my sweet buns financially, they will save my sweet buns health wise and weight wise.

What am I really loosing?? I am loosing the attachment to poor health, high weight, sugar that causes wrinkles by Forever bonding with proteins. I am loosing a strange desire to eat all the time, thank you Lord!

Yes, I fell off that wagon and got a little tummy sick from it. But I clawed and scratched my way back aboard that wagon and I'm having the Ride of My Life!

Yeee-Haaaww!
