I've been wondering the last few weeks why I've been feeling that I'm fatter now than I was when I started on Atkins nearly a year ago. After much puzzling over this apparent disconnect I think I've found the reason. It's to do with the clothes I'm now wearing, unlike the loose, formless garments of a year ago I'm wearing tailored shirts and tapered trousers. Clothing which actually touches the skin rather than billows out around it.

Weird how your mind works isn't it.

For me, as I grew larger I avoided any acknowledgement of my size. Now I might not like what I see, but I 'm paying attention.

You do tend to ignore the evidence, I used to make sure I couldn't catch my reflection in a mirror or shop window, now I can't help but look, who is that skinny guy.
