Not letting Ike get me down!

I posted in the forum before Hurricaine Ike came to visit for food ideas during the storm.
I followed alot of them however we didn't expect it as bad as it was....food wise.
We only lost some roof shingles and 5 days of electricity and never lost water & hot water (gas water heater). Needless to say, everyone was coming over to shower and hang out and we were feeding everyone which was great that we had enough food to do that but the low carb supplies didn't hold out.
The stores FINALLY got their shelves fully restocked Wed. I think, I was there Tues and they were about 50% reloaded.
So, I wound up having to start over yet again after such a good start a couple of weeks ago.
Thats okay though....back on track now, feeling great (a little hungry but great) and determined to make it work this time!!!
Still need to take some before pics! Will try to get on that this weekend!
OH YEA - and I bought the NEW book!

Isn't having gas for hot water and cooking the best? We have a gas fireplace too, so even in the coldest weather, I can shower, cook and keep warm if the power is out.
Glad you survived Ike, it was a big pill here too, but I only was without power for a couple of days.. it was quiet so I caught up on sleep!
