Getting Fit

Well, tomorrow will mark day 90 for my Atkins journey; three months of non-cheating low-carb eating. I have to say that I never thought I would feel this good in such a short amount of time. In these 3 months I have been able to lose 36.2 lbs and 21.75 inches. People that haven't seen me in a while are stunned when they see me because the transformation so far is that dramtic. I am so thankful to have found this WOE. To me, it is the easiet, most beneficial eating plan I have ever tried.
More importantly, I am getting physically fit. I can now do so many more things in my life that just 90 days ago were very difficulty and almost impossible. Things like taking a long walk, going up and down the stairs to do the laundry, walking/working with my dogs, just doing daily housework, playing outside with my kids, hiking/fishing with my husband, were all exhausting to me. Now, I can do all of these things and more with ease. I am just thankful!
Also, I am spending time getting spiritually fit. I think the obsession with food and my overweight conditin robbed me of much more than physical health. I now have more energy to study my Bible as well as doing those things that the Lord Jesus has called me to do for Him, With the state of things in this world I am finding that the spiritual exercises are much more beneficial than the physical. The spiritual is, after all, eternal and the physical temporary.
I hope all of you that are coming along for the low-carb journey are staying encouraged and determined. I have found that the supplements and the water drinking are as critical as Dr. Atkins suggests in his book. One other thing that I have found to be really true of success with Atkins is making sure that you're eating enough. Every time I eat too little in the form of calories the scales will sit still. I am NEVER hungry but I do make myself eat until I have gotten enough calories for the day.
I hope the tips help someone out there!

You sound like you are doing GREAT Happy! I'm so glad Atkins is working for you! GOD is so good, ain't HE!
I too have found that I am getting closer to GOD. We are even getting back to going to church. We have found a little church we've visited a couple of times and hope to make it our new church home.
You are right, this world is in a great heap of trouble! I am particularly worried about this country! It's so hard to tell how things will go with the election but I am disappointed that there isn't more coverage on the "spiritual" aspect of the candidates instead of all economics. Oh well, God will put into place the one destined to be there.
Again, GREAT JOB~!!!!!!Posted October 20th, 2008 at 10:16 AM by DLS
