I did great in this WOL all summer and lost about 15 lbs, then went back to work as a nurse on the 3-11 shift. I was so proud of myself for the first couple of weeks, then started having a hard time getting "good" food around in time to take to work with me, and ended up SOOO HUNGRY around 8pm with a break room full of hi carb goodies. I started to feel like it was just too hard to maintain, as rushed as I always was. The rest is history. I don't even know what I weigh now. I'm scared and ashamed to face the scale... but I know from experience that it has to start somewhere. So here I am back on Day One... and yep, I quit my job! (Not for diet reasons, just felt better about being a mom and making life at home better for my family. The $$ I brought in just doesn't justify how much more valuable I am to them here. I was such a grouch when I had to leave my family and home in chaos to go work in chaos... it wasnt worth it!... But that's another thread! ;-) My motivation is my son's air force graduation early in January. 20 lbs in 8 weeks

I was so happy to see 165-something last week after steady losses since starting this 7/20. I've even been tearing up the treadmill when I'd ordinarily shrug it off. I've had lots more hustle at work & in pretty much everything I do. I can't complain... I'm feeling pretty great. Took my measurements after 2 weeks and it says I've lost like 3 inches from the fattest part of my gut. Pants are a little bit looser, too. But I don't really feel 3 inches thinner. And my weight has been back up to 168-170, when I've given in to curiosity. I always think, "I ate great & exercised today and yesterday...let's see what the scale has to say to THAT!" and invariably it says... the same thing, or a little more. GRRR!!! :bang: But I've been reading & reading here on the ADBB and know in my heart that I'm doing this WOE to a T, so I'm just gonna have faith in the process and as someone told me, "keep on keepin' on!" I have zero physical complaints... in fact, my hair and skin are super! And I've got lotsa energy. So, holding my own here... hoping for a whoosh one of these days!

I've been trying to avoid the scale, but broke down this am... and was bummed to see it was at 169.2  All I can figure is it's all the exercise I've started & that I'm gaining more muscle. So, I'll try not to let the numbers discourage me... I know I'm rigorous about staying on plan, so I'm not beating myself up. I do think I can cut back more on the splenda, tho. Right now I'm going to search the BB for posts about exercise/weight gain correlation... I know there's gotta be something on there about it! I have a physical for work tomorrow & don't want to be shocked (unhappily) as I usually am when their scale & mine don't agree... Oh well, like I said -I know I'm doing all the best things for me, I just have to have patience to see it pay off.

Well, I started this WOL 16 days ago and haven't looked back since! The scale said 177 the day I started, but I'd been hovering closer to 180 for about the last 6 months. The last time I weighed myself I was 167.0!! That was a couple of days ago and I'm trying to hold off for a few days... then hopefully I'll be able to start weekly weights. Right at first it's just too tempting... I had to get on there first thing every morning just to prove to myself this WOE is actually *WORKING!* What a great feeling to be full & content while still seeing the weight come off. It means some definite adjustments to my eating, but it's so worth it. And this BB makes it so much easier to stick to -with all the recipes & friendly support... I'm doing the push-up challenge, and the hula hoop/jump rope challenge, plus the 'how long can can you go without cheating' challenge. I love being accountable to someone every day. This is without a doubt the best thing I've done for myself in years.:oha:
