Doctors

Ug went to the doctors today for a routine visit. I realize that doctors are really kind of a rip off.
I take lipitor. All I really needed was a refill, but my doctor left the practice and they needed to see me before they can renew my prescription.
I went there and the receptionist was rude, the nurse was rude I waited 20 minutes in the room for the doctor. He comes in and tells me that they lost my records from the last time I was there.
He looked at my blood work which they no longer do and then wrote my prescription.
I really dont understand why after I am prescribed the initial prescription why I HAVE TO see a doctor in person. I mean they recommended that I get on this medicine. But then if I dont keep seeing them regularly they will take me off and not allow me to get the medicine that I supposedly need to keep me alive? On top of all this they realize that they hold all of the cards and I feel they abuse this.
I mean cant every time I pick up my medicine the pharmasist ask me the 3 questions or so and maybe they can keep track of the blood work or make me bring in an updated copy with liver counts and colesterol numbers?
What really is the doctor doing? They now have computers. The doctor plugs in some info and the bad numbers for the blood tests are highlighted. Anyone can interpret the readings.
This time they seemed to have run some other test that he didnt order and it seems like there may have been a chance that they mixed up my blood samples.
Now they charge me $20 on top of the money my insurance charges. He wouldnt schedule me for a full physical so he only gave me a three month prescription for the lipitor and he wants me to get a new blood test and a full physical by then.
I am just not sure what doctors do anymore other than create a bunch of beauracracy.
Oh ... then when I asked about my old doctor he told me he moved to Pensylvania and hinted that doctors dont make enough money to live in NJ. OMG ... please I dont need to hear how doctors dont make enough money. I realize that they spend lots of time in school and all of that but they make money.
Well anyway that is my blog for today. I have another gripe coming up.
I think I will title it : Bait and Switch Economy ... look for it.

OMG Tom, yes yes yes. I get so stressed out when my prescriptions are coming due. My doc will not renew my prescriptions unless I come in for an office visit, then he always sends me for fresh bloodwork and whatever other tests, then come back for another office visit to see the results of the tests and get my prescriptions renewed.
And yes, my copay is $20 too. So, just to get my scripts refilled, that's $40 to the doc for 2 office visits, & $20 to the lab. Just chaps my hide.
Anyhoo, hang in there bud. I'm feelin ya on this for sure!
