Default Can yeast infection cause nausea?? need your help

I definitely started a yeast infection a few days ago after being on the induction for 11 days. Today I feel so nauseated I have had to stay in bed or seated most of the day. Could my nausea be yeast related? please help!!

I am on regular atkins and take multivitamin

this is not to be construed as medical advice - i am not a doctor...

1) are we talking about a vaginal yeast infection here or somewhere else on/in the body?
2) if vaginal, are you sure it's a yeast infection and not a bacterial infection? the symptoms of VVC are pretty recognizeable. in general, overgrowth of candida does not cause nausea, but a bacterial infection left untreated may.
3) call your doctor and describe the symptoms.
4) if he/she directs, go to the drug store an get yourself an OTC treatment for VVC (vulvovaginal candidiasis).

maybe the nausea has nothing to do with the yeast infection or the diet.

any drastic change in pH of the vagina will trigger VVC (hot tubs, bubblebaths, pregnancy). i work for a major pharma company and Monistat just happens to be my product line of responsibility, so i know a little (actually, a lot) about VVC. imho, the 7-day suppository treatements are the most effective.

call the doc. good luck - you will be better soon.

lulubell,

I did alot of research yesterday and I might be experiencing something called die off.
It sounds like when you have a yeast infection or candida and you cut out all sugar and carb ( which is what i did 11 days ago) it starves the yeast cells and they begin to die (which is good) but it creates a toxin in the body while they are being released. I did one day treatment vaginally and the next day my nausea was the worse. The information i read from multiple sites said that treatment is good but that it can cause more yeast cells to die and temporarily you will feel worse but the good news is the yeast is dying. What do you think?

i honestly don't know about that. in fact, i don't know much about systemic yeast infections, which it sounds like you think you have. i would say, drink lots of water to try and flush this toxin out, if in fact, that's what's happening. if you don't feel better in a day or so, then call the doc for sure.

let me know what happens and hope you feel better soon.

Yes, yeast definitely can cause cramping and nausea. It also makes you generally irritable and sometimes even cause "brain fog" where you're just basically out of it. This is what my doctor told me anyway.

not to be gross or anything but I do have a friend thats asking a lot of question about herself and since there was a yeast overgrowth forum I thought I would ask.

Can a yeast infection.... cause an odor? Down there or elsewhere.

Ok so I go to the Doctor this morning to get bloodwork and annual physical and I tell him my concern about yeast overgrowth. So anyway he asks what makes me thing I have a yeast overgrowth so I told him my symptoms. He said how can you be sure you don't have allergies... WELL DUH dude i was tested for that 3 years ago. Then he asks about antibiotics I told him 7 different ones I have been on multiple time over the last year. Told him about the spit test and he looked at me like i was 14 karat crazy. He had NO idea what I was talking about.

He prescribed Diflucan but I was wondering if anyone else had that prescribed and had it work? I have 2 more refills on it as well.
