| I am wondering if this maybe be part of the issue you have with beer? What do you think? |

| Yep, it DEFINITELY is, Titian! The issue I have with beer, with grains, with all sorts of things. I had read in my research that yeast symptoms can mimic gluten symptoms, but since I hadn't had obvious "yeast" problems (like a yeast infection) I didn't think that yeast was the culprit. So now I know what I've got to do, I'm just wondering if butter and mayonnaise are OK on a yeast-free diet. Some sources say YES, some say NO, and I wondered what the members of ADBB think...

| Hi Julie, I was looking back at my fitday from when i was feeling a whole lot better and my face cleared and losing weight and it was at the time i cut out a lot of food, and basically was eating the meat, veggies, and eggs and using olive oil as my fat, but i did have butter daily, just usually at bfast for my eggs, i would have used more if i steamed my veggies but since i pretty much roast all veggies now i use olive oil, and i did use mayo just not on a daily basis, i tried to cut back on it, see i use mayo and worshechire which both have vinegar in them as and mix as a dip for steak and i did that back then. Now this time i have had no butter or mayo but seeing i did then i might use some here and there, just not as much. The thing about butter in my eggs it really helps get the fat in there, so here i have been using olive oil spray and it just dont give me the fat i need. |

| Lisa, thanks! I'm concerned about ways to get my fat up too, and I just can't fathom eating ONLY olive oil for that. I don't *think* it'll be a problem, I just want to make sure.

| Coconut oil (virgin organic) is a yummy yeast fighting oil. It's nice on skin too. |

| Hello Julie, I'm not sure if you'll read this but just in case. I see you have concerns about keeping your fat ratio up. I have found that by adding MUFAS (monounsaturated fats) that it helps raise my fat ratios. 1).OILS-Canola, flaxseed, olive, peanut, pesto sauce, safflower, sesame, soybean, sunflower, walnut, are all oils you can incorporate into your woe to help raise your fat ratio. Also- 2).Nuts & Seeds- almonds, almond butter, brazil, cashew butter, chunky natural peanut buter, dry-roasted cashews, dry-roasted peanuts, dry roasted sunflower seeds, hazlenuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, roasted pumpkin seeds, smooth natural peanut butter, sun flower seeds, sunflower seed butter, tahini, and walnuts. 3).Avacados-florida avacados, Hass avacados 4).Olives- Black olives, black olive tapenade, green olives, green olive tapenade. 5). Dark Chocolate Also I wanted to tell you that in Sunny Secrets Journal on page 3 post #53 that Sunny has a list of things she cut out during her two week yeast free diet. I thought maybe it could help with your choices. She successfully finished Yeast free. Sincerely, Sherri

| Sherri, thanks, but I am on the KISS plan for candida overgrowth and can't have any nuts/seeds for a while. I used to eat natural peanut butter everyday...I think that's part of what got me in this mess. ![]() Obviously, chocolate is out too, as are olives. I did, however, have some avocado tonight--my first attempt at making guacamole! It's also the first time I've eaten avocado and liked it. I posted this question in the Candida forum because I prefer mayo and butter over olive oil, or at least, I use it more often, and would hate to NOT be able to use them! From what I've gathered, they both seem to be OK.
