| My child also got thrush in her mouth when I was breast feeding her. I had to treat her mouth and both my breast to make sure it was gone. Watch out cuz you will start to feel like your headlights are glowing. ha

| I feel like I've tried everything. I've tried Nystatin, Diflucan, gentian violet, GSE externally and internally and caprylic acid/pau d'arco/goldthread root, apple cider vinegar breast rinses, washing the laundry with vinegar, soaking my bra in a GSE rinse and painting my breast with kefir. I only wear a bra when I go out in public now and take it off immediately when I get home, because the more I wear one, the worse the thrush is. I also am taking the probiotic called Culturelle, though it's been hard recently to space it right between all the antifungals I'm taking. I'm now taking caprylic acid, oil of oregano capsules and olive leaf extract capsules.

| Really? You have had your son checked for it? I mean are you still breast feeding him? I find it hard to believe that he doesnt have it... maybe he just doesn't show the signs of it - but keeps giving it back to you. How could he not? That was my first sign ... the baby had it and then I noticed it on me. You poor thing, you must feel just terriable. I hope you are talking with a Dr. and get something figured out soon.

| He has been checked for it and the pediatrician says no, he doesn't have it. It's quite rare in children over the age of two. Once their immune systems develop well, they just don't get it. The dentist also looked and said he doesn't have it. He had it when I got it -- I took pictures of the inside of his mouth when he was about six weeks old and he never got it again. I, OTOH, never really got rid of it. It would sort of get beaten back and then come raring back once any treatment ended. The problem is the breastmilk sugar supply and the warmth and dampness of being covered most of the time. Maybe he doesn't have it because we all use xylitol orally in our house. He also gets probiotics all the time. The midwife at the OB's office told me that the only way she knew to get rid of it was longterm, intensive treatment with Diflucan and it has a high level of liver toxicity. I've read that even that doesn't work. Supposedly, there's another supplement for me to try called SF-722 that's supposed to be really effective against thrush. At least it isn't $50 a month.

| I won't say I have beaten it, but I can at least make it go away (sometimes for a few years). I go to Walgreens and buy a three day treatment for vaginal yeast infection (the cream - not ointment that you insert). Get the 4% strength. Then get yourself a small cosmetic-type jar, insert the cream into the jar, and use it 2-3x daily topically on your breasts where the skin irritation is. That, in conjunction with everything else you are doing should hopefully improve the situation. Also, be sure to keep the area cool and dry. Hopefull, it works, though I know these things don't always work for everyone. |

| Medical anti-fungals have done nothing for me. But, I have FINALLY had great success using Saccharomyces boulardii. It's another type of yeast that is non-invasive and can fight the Candida on its own terms. I'm using it topically and taking it internally and it's really, really helped.
