Default Just hit 30 pounds down!

On 3/23/2009 I was fed up with my body and my eating habits, but, I knew if I jumped into Atkins right away I would fail. For 2 weeks I started to cut my intake and really started watching what I ate. On the first day of week 3 I started Atkins. My official weekly weigh in is on Sunday and as of Sunday 4/26/2009 I am down 30 pounds and 7oz!

I still have a long way to go and I don't expect to lose 30 pounds every month, however, I am planning to stick to ( or close to ) 20g per day for a long as I need to.

Several people are telling me to reward myself with food. I can't do that because I have to break the habit of celebrating with food, food when I'm down, food when I'm bored etc. I have to find other ways to reward myself.

Cravings have not been that bad, I think it's just my mind set as I really want to shed these pounds! I do miss pasta and breads but each time I start craving I remind myself why I am in the shape I'm in to begin with!

I'm impressed by your weight loss rate. 30 lbs in a month is fantastic! Congratulations!

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"

Outstanding! I was too afraid to even buy a scale until I had 30 days on Induction! You have far more courage than I do!

Awesome job dude! My 2 boys and I are on this together and we've lost a combined total of 33lbs since April 20th. Our big motivation and our goal meeting celebration is that we're planning a trip to Cleveland for a few nights at a hotel and an Indians game. We did that last year and the kids are dying to go back so it's the main driving force keeping them going. Of course we have a ways to go, as my boys want to lose about 40lbs each, and I'll do Cleveland if they meet thier goals, but I'm in it for the long haul with a goal loss of 126.5lbs.

Congrats! 30 lbs is a great milestone and really is an awesome start to your new WOE. That's the best part of this system - you can actually see/feel results while feeling great, eating a lot and realizing that there's "hope" for a better us. It's one thing to starve ourselves and lose weight, thinking, " This WOE is unsustainable, and I'm going to stop soon, so I might as well stop now." I can't imagine *not* eating this way for the rest of my life.
