| First, congartulation on your loss so far. Second do those same dress sizes feel looser. Were you squeezing into them before. Have you measured? Are there inches lost? Unfortunately everyone is different, a lot of people lose it in the face and neck so it's really noticable, others lose other places sooner. For me I lost more inches than the weight showed, but I know of several others who were just like you. Unfortunately or fortunately everyone is different. Just revel in your success both large and small. Continue on the path and the final success will be worth it.

| It's very easy to feel discouraged when you've put in the hard work to drop a good amount of weight and yet it doesn't really seem to show. Every time I look in the mirror without a shirt on, I'm reminded that I'm still a fatso. But do look at your 42 pound loss. That is a LOT of weight to drop! I challenge you to fill a backpack with 40 pounds of rocks and wear it around for a couple of days. So even if your dress size hasn't dropped YET.... it surely WILL.... but only if you KEEP GOING. Now is not the time to get discouraged. It's time to celebrate!

| Your join date is November 25, 2008, but that doesn't tell us much about when you actually started and how long it took to lose the 42 pounds. If you lost the 42 pounds really recently, it might take a while for your body to catch up. When you first lose fat, the fat cells fill up with water just in case you stop dieting and regain the fat. Especially if you have been a yo-yo dieter. If it has taken you several months to lose the 42 pounds, then maybe you are not doing Atkins properly. We can't tell without more info about what you have been doing. Have you been exercising? If not, then start. This will make a huge difference. Drink up your plain water--lots of it at your current weight. That will get the pounds and inches on the way out the door. Don't get discouraged--it will happen. Come here and talk it out. You might just need to tweak a few things.

| Thanks y'all. Reading your replies makes me a feel a lot better. I just have to keep pushing through it. SunnySmile501: I have been losing weight since Oct of 2008, but really seriously on Atkins since... the middle of March. I had been drinking 80 ounces of water daily, but I lost my water jug last weekend . I am going to get another one this evening, and ramp up my exercise as well. I'm just really hoping to see a difference soon.FwL: The backpack thing is a good idea. I am going to do that. I think it will really help me to realize what I am no longer carrying around. jroche5998: They are somewhat loser, not really a whole lot. The only thing that has been really noticeable is that my glasses will not stay on my face any longer. Haha! If I bend over they fall right off my face, which they never did before. Kind of odd... but I guess I'll look at it like an accomplishment. lol! |
