I'll only be having Thanksgiving with hubby and my lil dog...but I won't be eating any illegal foods.

However, there are lowcarb versions of gravy and cheesecake. Plus a recipe for peanut butter cookies (which is induction-friendly too) I might make. I'll be baking a low carb, almond-crust pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving. Made it for Canadian Thanksgiving and hubby loved it!

I haven't tried the gravy recipe yet. And pies...only if it's hamburger pie

Too bad I cant get my family members to bring Atkins friendly goodies! lol

That would be great!

I did get a recipe for Pumpkin Cheesecake Custard from this board...from you maybe? That I plan to make for the festivities!

I just wish I could wear a sign that says....Please dont beg me to try your homemade pie, Congrats on a job well done but its not on my menu tonight! to avoid all the questions about my new woe!!!!

Its going to be like Jr High peer pressure all over agin! Come on Jenn just one brownie wont make a difference ... all dieters do it for the holidays...

LOL

( I cant do the Atkins stuffing and gravy while still on induction though right? )

Hi Jenn,

There are lots of pumpkin cheesecake and NY cheesecake recipes. You can even make a crustless version I made my crust with almond flour, butter and water. It's quite a mess, but when it's done it tastes gourmet!!

I'm still figuring out how to make my turkey. I always use a cranberry glaze...but not sure I can use it this Thanksgiving. Depending on the recipe and what rung I'm on by Christmas I might be able to make a low carb version of it for the Christmas turkey (in-laws will be here so I want to impress them!) If I do, I'll definitely have to make my own cranberry sauce.

LOL if anyone tries to get you to have their homemade pie, keep your own cheesecake on a plate that you just nibble at. That way you have an "excuse" not to eat theirs.

There's a recipe for gravy that's only beef stock (or chicken stock), so that should be ok for any stage, including induction.

Stuffing...it depends. There are vegetable/sausage stuffing recipes. They won't be "bread" stuffing but a nice alternative. You could bake it the night before too.

Edit: Here's the low carb gravy recipe:
