Default Diet Coke Challenge? Anyone?

I posted this in the STAC forum but found this one which may be more appropriate....

Ok, so I'm eating my mixed veggie omlett, drinking the last diet coke in the house, reading posts and realizing that I'm not the only one with the diet coke monkey on my back.

I've never started a challenge before and need feedback on how this could work. I also don't know how to make banners for those who acomplosh their goal BUT...

I know I can't quit cold turkey because the caffine headaches would keep me from taking care of my family. My thought is pledging to wean yourself off (and a plan on exactly how you are going to accomplish this) and being diet coke free by the end of June OR no diet coke for the rest of June. Daily posts on your progress.

I will make this my last diet coke (because I have been cutting back in the past week) ... what do YOU think and who's with me???

<<<<Me drinking water

count me in, I drink a lot of water but usually have two or three diet sodas a day. I believe the diet cokes do set off cravings for me. I am ready to give them up for good. let me know when this challenge begins.

Thanks for the inspiration. I know I feel better with no caffine or artificial sweetners in my bod

How about a coffee addiction? Is it the caffeine you're trying to kick, or the sweetener? It's both for me. I could sure use some help with that. This would be just the thing for me. Let me know.

You have a good point. For me it is both. No reason we can't have a challenge that is for those tow items and not limit ourselves to diet sodas.

So, for the month of June what are we pledging so far. No more caffiene for me and no more than the allowed Splenda per day.

Karyn, yeah, we are allowed 3 splendas a day right? Have you ever tried Diet Rite? It's very good, comes in flavors, like Strawberry Kiwi, which is delicious. It has no caffeine, no carbs, but is considered 1 splenda per serving (a can is a serving.)

I was so addicted to Diet Coke. I would lose track of how many I had a day. I gave it up and replaced it with coffee (which I used to drink a lot less of.) Now, I have a Diet Rite maybe a twice a week. It satisfies yet doesn't have that caffeine kick, so it doesn't have the pull of Diet Coke. I swear Diet Coke has some secret ingredient that makes people crave it.

O.k. do we start tomorrow then? I'm already dreading the no caffeine but I think it's stalling me. What shall we call it... the Kick the Caffeine challenge, or something similar? Do we wean off or go cold turkey? And just report in each day on how we did?
