Default Trying to find my way back.....

Hi everyone, my name is Pam and I'm not really new to this board in general but new to this forum in reference to depression.

I started Atkins May 2004 and stuck with it for well over 6 months and lost about 60 lbs. I have always had a weight problem and have always struggled to find a diet and never really found an answer until I started Atkins.

I know this plan works and I was even very happy while on it. However, many things occured in my life starting around November of last year. My husband was brutally attacked on Halloween by a gang and they crushed his arm and he had surgery and went thru a tough recovery from that. That went on until January and then my 93 year old Grandmother (who i care for) went through a major illness until March and then she ended up falling and broke her leg and had to have surgery. I've been caring for her ever since.

I bounced back and forth with Atkins from Nov until Jan and then tried to restart several times since and have stuck with it some and then always fell back off. It has been a struggle for me. I went to the doctor in July and I have gained about 20 lbs back - I spoke to him about depression and he prescribed Effexor XR 75 mg per day. I've been taking it for almost a month now and do feel better at times but I'm struggling with no motivation and just feeling tired all the time.

I did see a post here by Betty (ttdriver) and I sent her a pm and she has been very helpful in giving me information. I just really need to get back on plan and get my life back. I feel so ashamed of myself! I can't stand the thought of gaining back all my weight again - I just can't go back to living like that again. Somehow I have to get control.

Thanks so much for listening to me.

{{{{{{{}}}}}} Don't feel ashamed of yourself. I lost 50 pounds before and gained it ALL back! Hey, you're putting the brakes on before that happens. It sounds like you've had a very rough year and you need to be kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself up.
