| When I was on citalopram (the most horrid experience in my life) my doctor told me to make sure to take it at the same time each day. I guess it depends on your reactions .. it may make you want to sleep a lot, so I'd rather take it at bedtime, but your mileage may vary. yemenitegreen

| Moochie, I'm sorry you have such severe PMS. Girl, I used to have that too. It was awful and there were many days I thought death would be better. I don't know about Celexa .. never took anything other than that EVIL Effexor and never will again! I will you all the best though .. I really hope you get some relief. Betty

| I take celexa, usually in the morning. As long as you take it at the same time, I'm not sure it matters. I didn't have the sick feeling when I started it the second time, hopefully you won't either, I remember how wierd it felt the first time. Like my swallow reflex just wasn't working right for a few days. I would say unless you need to take it at a certain time depending on if it makes you tired or not, take it at a time of the day when you will always be up! Quote:

| I already take my supplements and my blood thinners in the morning so it's easiest to do it then. I'll give that a try and if I find I'm getting nauseated around mid-morning perhaps I'll switch to nighttime so that part of it happens when I'm sleeping. I'm easing into it very slowly with a very small dose, so I don't imagine I'll have much happen. I've been so flipping tired from pre-period and then post-period stuff that I'd hardly notice the drowsiness. Mentally, I feel very positive about this and optimistic that this will help and I'm sure that's part of the battle there. Gosh, I hope so anyway. I have another medical thing that I'm worked up over as well, and it's been bothering me for two years now...in fact it's what forced me to look at my body and decide to do Atkins. After two CT scans and an ultrasound they can't see what's wrong. I have another ultrasound booked for next week. The celexa will probably help me in many ways, I suppose. Anyway, thanks for your comments, ladies! |

| I'm near the end of my first week on my low dose of 10mg, and then at the end of next week, I'll go up to 20. I feel pretty good...I sleep like the dead at night, which is a really wonderful thing and I couldn't be happier about that! I feel clear-headed through the day and not any more absent-minded than usual...lol. The one thing I've noticed is after I eat, I don't get actual indigestion, but my stomach seems to enjoy churning up my food, and omg...I burp and burp and burp! I've started to eat much slower and make sure I chew things up...I'm kind of a wolfer when it comes to food. My appetite has shrunk right down as well, so I'm super careful about eating really quality meals because they are so small. I also feel ever so slightly queasy, but I know that's fairly typical. All in all, I'm doing well and my fingers are crossed that this all helps me in the long run. |

| When I was taking Celexa, I started off taking it in the morning, which left me dead tired by noon. So instead, I took it before bed, except that left me nauseated at 5am and thinking I was pregnant!! So finally I figured out that taking it at bedtime proved to be the best time - tiredness would hit when it was already time for bed, and no nausea because of the food in my tummy. But, YMMV.

| So, if anybody is interested, I'm on my third week of Celexa, and I'm up to a full dose this week. I got my period today and was stunned to realize I had little to no pms whatsoever. Other than cramping, and feeling a bit tired, I feel pretty good and not swallowed up by it. Typically, day 2 of my period is the worst, so we'll see what's up tomorrow, but I think that it's either the Celexa or just a good period that's happening. The next few months will be interesting to see how it all goes. I'm just grateful I'm feeling decent! |
