| Hi BiggestDawnEver, I just wanted to let you know it can take a couple of weeks for your antidepressant to start working. Don't stop taking it and if after a couple months you don't feel better, ask your doctor to change the medication. Welbutrin works wonders for a friend of mine, but it didn't help me at all. Also, I don't know what your weight is, but find someone to exercise with. I hate exercise, and exercising alone. My husband and I joined a gym together and it is great. We have a trainer go over our routine every 6-8 weeks and she is great. Having my husband go with me has helped me keep going, plus I have the family membership which is costing us hundred a month, so that is incentive. There are also people of all shapes and sizes there, so I don't feel self concious. My husband needs to loose about 60 lbs and I have 25 left to go. I have trouble loosing my weight because I have a bad thyroid and metabolic syndrom, but I stick with it. You can do it. Don't put it off. You can do this. If I can do it, you can do it.........dawn |

| Another Dawn! That's cool. Well, I asked my therapist if he thought I was really feeling the Wellbutrin after just two days or if it was maybe a placebo effect because I want it to work. He said that he is inclined to think it really is the Wellbutrin. I hope that it is. I took Zoloft for three weeks and had to quit. I had a mini-meltdown and it scared me. Started crying for absolutely no reason and couldn't stop. Scared my husband to death, too. Speaking of, I know I need to exercise I just hate it. Hate it hate it hate it hate it. My husband has offered to go to the Y with me if I want to get a membership. He doesn't need to lose weight at all, the whole 14 years I've known him he has been trying to put more muscle on. He is very supportive of the Atkins though. But we are probably going to be moving in a couple weeks, so I will have to see what they have there. Thanks for the encouragement! By the way, I'm 5'8" and weigh 182, goal weight is 147. I will put this in my sig eventually and also get a ticker! |

| Dawn, I will tell you what got me to start liking exercising..a heart rate monitor. I used to hate how I felt when exercising, always out of breath and tired. I got the heart rate monitor and found that you don't have to kill yourself when you exercise. You can actually go on a bike/treadmill/elliptical machine at a slow pace to keep yourself in your target heart range. As you get more in shape, you have to push your body harder to get into the target heart range, but you won't feel so winded.

| keep taking your meds exercise will help too but you don't need a formal exercise program. since hubby ioffered to help if you like to dance do 30 min of that with hubby, take a brisk walktogether to start out. If you can't afford a heart rater monitor just check your pulse every 10 min and see if you are doing enough too much or too little. Once you start getting in shape then look into joint workout classes at the Y or just a joint sport you both like

| Hi Dawn, Please try not to compare yourself with someone who is thinner. There will always be someone who weighs more than you/weighs less than you. Besides, there's only one "you," and that's what matters. Best wishes!

| Dawn, that is great that your husband offered to exercise with you. My daughter went with us to the gym tonight and got some time with our trainer. She did really good. She is 13 and worked pretty hard. I am doing weights 3 days a week, and cardio 4 days a week. I am also doing cardio on the days I do my weights. I feel pretty good. Once you start you will feel better. Just to let you know, I hate to be out of breath, so I slow down when I start to puff. If you don't want to join the Y then start walking or get a low impact aerobics CD or tape. Take care.........Dawn I. |

| Thanks everybody! ) and he hates walking. And he works the opposite shift from me. That's part of what triggered the depression, I think. Too much time alone, too stressed out. I think the heart rate monitor is probably a good idea. I'm so out of shape, I get out of breath very easily and then I feel like I didn't really work out unless I was out of breath even though I KNOW that it is not aerobic exercise if you can't breathe! Gah. Usually I am pretty smart except when it comes to eating and exercising, it seems. Day one of induction done! 13 carbs - but fitday could be off a little, I don't think they count the cheese carbs. Dawn K. |

| The heart rate monitor will make a WORLD of difference. It is definitely a good investment, trust me. Did you know that if you are working above your target heartrate that it isn't as effective? You're killing yourself while your body is less effective at burning calories. I got mine at the Activa site. You can find good coupons online, too. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
