| Oh, btw, I can't take generic meds (they don't work on me or my daughter). Even though they have the same ingredients, the compound of the formulation (the way they're put together) is different. I'll try to find that info online and send it to you - had to research to see why generic meds weren't helping me. I'm not Donald Trump so this does not make me happy - plus my insurance now won't cover the name brand if a generic is available. I mostly have to treat myself with homeopathy - not paying for something that won't work for me.

| Hi, Suga I currently take 300mg Wellbutrin XL, and it has *zero* effects on my weight. I took it for a year and half before being on Atkins, and it did nothing to my weight. I've been taking it while on Atkins (about 10 months now), and it did nothing to my weight. Perhaps it depends upon the person... it has never affected me, weight-wise. The generic does not work for me, because I take the time-released kind, and the generic does not work well for people who are used to taking the time-released kind, prior to trying the generic. |

| I've been on wellbutrin xl for a little under a year... it DRAMATICALLY lowered my appetite and I did notice an increase in my speed of weight loss pretty soon after starting the medication.... Weight loss is a side affect, but that definately varies on person to person. I also had MAJOR problems when I switched to the generic, an issue my dr said she had seen with several patients to the variances in time release... After a week I went back to the name brand and all was well again. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Wellbutrin.

I wud look up Welbutrin Side Effects on a search engine to find theinfo you want. I read somwhere one time that wellbutrn has alow risk of weight gain. Although may of teeplethat complai about hat have lifestyles and eating habits liek we used tohave so yah the are gonna gain. I am particularly intersted in seeing how my meds act wth the weight loss once I get back on them. I am supposed to be on Anti-anxiety, depression, & mood stabilizers so I just can't wait. So basically my last cocktail was xanax 1mg 3 time day, lexapro 10mg and lamictal 500mg. I gained about 10lbs on them and I was only on them for 4 monhs. Before that I was on wellbutrin and depakote 40lbs <1 1/2 years>

| Here's the list of side effects listed on the Wellbutrin XL site: http://www.wellbutrin-xl.com/prescri...e_effects.html Myself, I have only experienced the weight loss and loss of appetite, though if I recall I believe I did suffer from a sore throat for the first week. as with all medications, you may experience side effects when you take WELLBUTRIN XL. Side effects may be more common shortly after you start treatment. The most common side effects with WELLBUTRIN XL are weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often. Seizures may occur (studies showed an incidence of 1/1000 - 4/1000). The chances of having seizures increases with higher doses. Taking more than 450 mg/day increases the chance of serious side effects. If you have nausea, take WELLBUTRIN XL with food. If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.

| I took Bupropion for 1 month to quit smoking, and I did lose weight about 15 lbs in a month. I was on weight watchers at the time as well,so i think it was a combo of the 2. My issue was I had the dry mouth, SEVERE dry mouth, to the point where it felt like my mouth was full of cotton. that wasn't such a bad thing as it had me drinking alot of water (didn't help though). The other side effect I had was insomnia, which was severe. I ended up going on around 2 hours of sleep a night if that...after a week or two i was walking around like i was high on drugs for lack of sleep. i ended up stopping at a month..was supposed to take it for 3. It did help me quit smoking however (going on 8 years now), normally i was a raging lunatic when i didn't have a cigarette, i was as happy as could be. Exhausted though LOL. It helped me get thru the b*tchy stage.
