| Thanks. I appreciate the help. I've been on Paxil for ... 10 years? I am afraid after so much time what changing to anything else might do... It's not that I was that bad off before, it's simply that I did have obsessive thoughts and depression. Probably physiological, but it's never been determined conclusively. |

| When I first started taking paxil, I lost weight for about 6 months. After that I began a long period of weight gain which (to this day) I blame for my size. There's nothing that can prove this, but there are few things about which I've felt this sure. The longer I took paxil the more I slept. I feel as though I lost five years of my life which I believe was the result of paxil. ![]() Switching from paxil to another anti-depressant was one of the best things I've ever done. Moving from paxil to another antidepressant is no where near as hard as stopping paxil altogether. In fact it's not as bad as missing a dose of paxil. Those are my personal experiences and I've read quite a few forums where people have had similar experiences. From paxil I moved to effexor supplemented by welbutrin. Those two meds woke me up. Lexapro was next and now I'm taking Cymbalta (which I love). Good luck. |
