| You say you haven't lost any weight - your ticker says you have lost 4lbs!? I shouldn't imagine being diabetic would make a difference, surely you would get to ketosis faster as you wouldn't have been eating a load of sugar previously ..... |

| Yeah....well....I haven't updated the ticker. It was a little discouraging! I lost those 4 pounds in the first few days and then they poofed! back on! I haven't done anything different--still under 20 carbs....high fat and medium protein. Lots of water.... IDK! |

| Don't get discouraged - you shouldn't weigh for the first 2 weeks - you weight can go up and down just like that on the scales - I lost 12 lbs in the first 3 weeks then nothing until week 6 (just 2lbs) I can have a 6lb difference some days on those darned scales - I should have them locked away! |

| Linda, Are you on meds? If so, what meds are you on? Have you measured? Have you lost inches? Stark, I answered your question in the main forum........ you are totally normal. A pause in the second to sixth week is totally normal. You did not state weather you are diabetic?

| Yes, I am on meds--Wellbutrin (not one of the ones known to frustrate metabolism) and Ziac (bp). And, no I haven't measured this time around. Okay-I know--you're slapping your forehead now! My main thing is knowing if the ketones are true. If they are--I can relax. I know not to judge by the pounds or EVEN the tape as long as I'm in ketosis. I can be patient and wait for it all knowing inside it's all doing what it's supposed to. I just wonder whether the strips are correct because of the diabetes. Okay --yes measuring today so that I have some kind of guideline. This is day 9. I remember the first time around I was on Paxil and immediately weaned off of it. I am NOT ready to give up the Wellbutrin...... |

| I would have to say you are doing fine! How do you feel? The strips are only a tool...... we have had many people here never register on the strips lose great and others just the opposite! I do not believe there is any difference in the readings of the sticks for diabetics/pre-diabetic or non diabetic.

| Thanks Bren. I do feel better. I can tell a big difference in energy. This may sound pathetic, but I just got back from a soccer match and I am feeling good enough to hit WalMart-on-a-Saturday (different from other days, ya know). A few weeks ago--that would have been my activity for the day! I'd be wiped out and stay home and scrapbook. So, I KNOW it's "working" just waiting for the visual! |
