| Hey Dave welcome, and yes it is s'mazing how fast it works, did you talk with doc and have preliminary blood work done, especially creatine levels checked. this program has me now about 5.4 all the time. To figure out old system USA uses just mulitpe by 18. Hang around, learn from us,ask away, test often as Bg will fall more as systems clears itself of glycogen stores and weight comes off. :wave |

Unfortunately I work abroad and the cover is limited to emergencies only so I go back to the UK every three months, see the Doc and pick up my meds. Thanks for the calculation and I can now say that my figures fluctuated between 216 and 324, however they are now down to 158.4 in only 3 weeks and stable. As I said previously, I test myself 2 to 3 times a day and after a dramatic drop (81) the other day I have decided to stop my meds. Since then I am stable at 153 to 158. I will keep the testing up, but fingers crossed I hope I can stay off the meds. All the best Dave |

| Goodonya Dave. I know it is a personal decision but just know Dr Bernstein says any readings above 140 are doing damage. Wonder if should stay on meds until ride under 120 or so most the time, just a thought. When home ask for creatine level to be done for sure but if newer diabetic should be OK. Glad you are finding this helps, is it a prob eating out, assuming you eat in restaurants allot if abroad..... Its really amazing how bloody good this program works and so many people are afraid of it and mock it, specially in UK, my friends say people there are freaked by it and gov is so anti low carb. I guess we see it here too in Canada but not as much according to what they tell me. |

| Hi Dave, congrats on dropping your BG. Canuck is probably right about staying on your meds for now. Metformin does not drop BG, but helps insulin work more efficiently. Dr. B. (my hero) says that Metformin is one of the good ones that won't burn out your pancreas. Your goal is to get to, and stay below 6.0.

| Canuck/Binsk, I hear what you are both saying and have been considering starting the Metformin again, however this morning I was 151 (8.4) which shows a daily drop since starting. When I returned from exercising this aftenoon I registered 86.4 ( 4.8 ) so I'll hang off restarting just now and see what happens by Monday Thanks for the advice and support All the best Dave
