Can anyone help?! I have type one diabetes and use the Humapen Ergo, (think that's howyou spell it) But are there any other smaller Devices out there? Something that's easily carried in a pocket without it sticking into my leg or hip every time I sit down!... I've looked onthe Internet but I always get redirected to a site that has nothing to do with what I'm looking for! Any help would be great, thanks.

opps Sorry! I cannot answer your question. Have you talked to your health care providers? Are you from the U.S.A.? If so, check out the ADA website as they may have some up to date info.
And WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!

Sorry David lack of response doesn't mean we don't care, just that we don't know. I'd help if I could =/

Being the Moderator here, I am especially sorry for the lack of a reply .

Being a Type II Diabetic, I honestly don't know anything about that. I, too would suggest that you check with your Health Care Provider and also check the ADA site.

I, too, welcome you to and the Diabetic Forum!!

I've always imagined pumps to be bulky and awkward because of having a tube running into you... Sounds like I'm wrong?!?) ... Anyway, while searching the Internet once again I came across a "needle free pen" the SQ-Pen. As I've never liked needles, (had to be held down for my flu jabs etc!) and still dread having to stick one in me four times a day, seeing this has sparked my interest... Has anyone used one? If so, what are they like to use and would you say they are better than needle pens? Looking at the picture it does seem bigger than the pen I have now, but hey, NO NEEDLE.

Hi David! I am a type 1 diabetic and I currently use the Humalog Insulin Pen. I am pretty knowledgeable about the disease, and other then the insulin pump I am unaware of anything smaller, and more convenient, then the pen. Of course, there are so many things out there now being developed or trying to gain FDA approvals that who knows what is in the future. I have the pump, but have decided to stay with the pens (I take 2 insulins, a short acting and fasting acting). I have much better control with the pen. I also take my shots in my stomach rather then my thighs or arms...it really doesn't hurt. I know it doesn’t sound pleasant, but you should really try it. Hope this helps some.
