| Hello Doug, If it's one thing that I've found so important about Atkins is that it's a healing lifestyle. Before I began Atkins I was a Type-2 Diabetic. 48 days into Induction my diabetes simply vanished and has never returned. That was 4 years ago. My doctor informed me again this month that i'm no longer at risk for Diabetes. I found that by choosing my foods lower on the Glycemis Index from each rung, was very key to getting my glucose levels under control. Dr. Atkins discusses the GI on page 78-84, 92 and describes it as being"a beautiful tool". So TRUE! There are also supplements that I took to help get my glucose levels under control. As in chromium pic, cinnamon (500 mg), noni juice(normalizes glucose levels), Alpha-Lopic Acid, Pro-biotics( for yeast problems), olive leaf (anti fungul). I truly believe by these supplements and by following Atkins along with choosing lower GI foods on each rung that it healed my Type-2 Diabetes. I've found this to be true with others that have healed themselves from Type 2 Diabetes and also controling glucose numbers in Type 1 Diabetics aswell. Wishing you the best of health and lite. Sincerely, Sherri
