AHH! now type II How fast can Atkins work

I've been pre-diabetes twice and both times I've been able to get it under control with Atkins. My husband was just diagnosed pre-diabetes and in five days on atkins he is at 112mg/dl. I'd say forget the drugs and stick with the Atkins. BUT you've got to exercise. Loosing lots of weight fast, like you can with Atkins Induction, will leave you with skin hanging loose if you don't exercise. You don't have to kill yourself either. 15 minute walk every day for a start. Ge the book "The Doctor's Heart Cure" by Al Sears M.D. It will help to explain exactly what type of exercise you need to do and how much is really necessary. Don't give up. You can do this. Cravings for sugar will disappear in just a few weeks on Atkins. Kick it's little ducky butt!

Great to hear all the good stories for diabetics. I was diagnosed type 2 in June 2009 and about 98kg (216lb), 5" 9' 44M, taken to Emergency with 64 mg/dl, extremely high. Anyway after losing around 9kg (20lb) in 1 month (2 weeks on induction) I have moved bak from the cliff of high risk health prognosis, possibly death, so I am so greatful to Dr Atkins.

I see my specialist (Endocronoligist) on Monday so it will be interesting what she has to say.

okay so I'm confused....AussiePK... did you go to the hospital because your glucose reading was 64 mg/dl?
