| Today was a good day -- Easter Sunday to everyone. Even though it was Easter I mowed the lawn this morning because we had 4 days of rain last week and it's suppose to start raining tonight and rain another 2 days...the grass is growing so quickly and is so thick this year...I guess the fertilizer worked!! My numbers were the best they have been EVER today. This morning my fasting number was 86 and my evening number was 90 - WOW my first day totally under 100! I made scalloped potatoes and baked beans for dinner tonight...for my family! I had mashed cauliflower, zucchini chips and snow peas as side dishes to my ham. I also had a big salad w/ranch dressing ... the whole meal was wonderful tasting.

| Hi Carole, I love how you have embraced this lifestyle. It certainly agrees with you. Great news on your glucose levels. I am so excited for you. It just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? You're a perfect example of how this woe works for Diabetics. There will come a day where you will be able to manage your diabetes with this woe alone and you will be able to kick your glucose meter to the curb and no more poking your finger. I havn't had to poke my finger for over 4 years now and just rely on my A1C every 12 weeks. You will have the same confidence to do the same some day, I just know it.I'm so proud of you darlin. Keep up the fantastic work you're doing for yourself. It's all paying off for you. Love ya, Sherri

| I keep saying you are my role model for getting off my meds. There is another thread someone started asking questions about Type 2 -- I answered with my experience but I think it's something you are more qualified to answer. Thank you for your kind words I am excited each and everyday to get up and spend another day on Atkins. This has truly changed my life in the best way possible. I remember when I first started someone told me to take it easy and not burn myself out.....but the way my days are and as good as I feel it doesn't seem possible to burn out. By time time with diets I had quit long before, but this is easy to do, the food is wonderful and I really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. The best reason to come on the board everyday is to see what everyone has said, for support and to try to help the newbies. I remember those first few days....I was so afraid of doing something wrong or eating the wrong thing.....I still plan my meals ahead of time but I know if I want to change them it's ok. I made it through Super Bowl and Easter so I'm golden!! Thank you for your support and your posts here -- I really appreciate them!! Love ya!

| Ok - it's the 14th of April -- my fasting glucose was 92 -- evening 102. We moved the old stove to the basement and by the time we were done I was shaking, so I grabbed celery and put some cream cheese in it - that's why the evening number is a little higher than it has been lately. The new stove looks wonderful!! Can't wait for the gas company to put the new line in tomorrow so we can use it tomorrow night! The 6WEC is over Saturday -- I don't think I've lost anything since I started but I have made a point to ride the bike more so hopefully that will make a difference - it makes me feel better when I do it so that's enough for me.

| we had Bar-b-que last night that didn't set well with me....it wasn't the meat, it was the drama that happened before dinner. I got in an argument with a stupid girl and manager of a place where I shop. I was just tired of the poor customer service and everything else about the place and when this little pip squeek smarted off I just decided I'd had enough of it. I was upset the entire night and since stress is a common factor for blood sugar rising I'm thinking that's why my numbers were up this morning. I was also excited about the gas company coming this morning and didn't sleep well last night. Anyway....here are my numbers: fasting 116 evening 79. Worked in the garden this afternoon and weeded around in the yard a little....glad that job is done - I don't like weeding - never did, never will -- it's mom's job!

| We had a good dinner -- made a "legal" meatloaf, spinach w/vinegar and a salad...it all tasted so good...at first I really thought I needed an additional veggie but after a few bites I was glad I didn't have anything else. Once in awhile my pre-Atkins eyes show up for dinner and I don't think there is enough on my plate. I've learned that I just have to start eating and give it a few minutes -- then I figure out there is plenty of food and I don't need any additional. After dinner I was feeling sluggish and knew I needed to go get on the bike because it was my day for the big ride (15 miles)....I still chuckle when I think about riding that long because 3 weeks ago I practically had to beat myself to get on and stay on more than 2 miles. I honestly don't know why my mind changed but I have something on TV that interests me and I read the DANDR book or Prevention mag (got it at the Dr's office last week -- about loosing weight walking). Or the other day I watched the 1st episode of Moonlighting while I was riding. Tonight I was reading the chapter on Diabetes and wasn't watching the odometer...when I looked down I was 16.5 miles so I figured what the h*ll.....I'll go on to 20 miles. It really didn't take that much longer and I really feel good now - yep I'm chuckling again saying I feel "good" after exercise---someone or something has taken over by body because I was the type of person who thought exercise was walking into a fast food place instead of going through the drive-in! I do feel better and I re-read the chapter in the book tonight that you have to exercise to loose weight...and you have to exercise to do Atkins properly. I'm trying to do everything by the book because this is such a great way to live! I love the new stove - that's why I made meatloaf, wanted something to bake in the oven!! The first thing I made on it was sauteed veggies for lunch -- they were extra special today. I love the new stove...did I say that?? LOL!!

| wow - can't believe it's been a couple days since I've been here! Apr 16 fasting 109 evening 80 (no more bar-b-que my stomach was upset for 2 days and my fasting numbers were up!) April 17 fasting 103 evening 84. I've been walking the past 2 days, no other exercise and only walking 2 miles each day -- I can see when I don't get enough exercise in that my fasting numbers are higher. We ate out tonight so I'm wondering if it will show up on my fasting numbers tomorrow -- we'll see!

| fasting 130 -- explaination below: I had a side salad and "whopper" hamburger patty for dinner last night - (no bun - no ketsup just the whopper) I didn't eat anything after that when I got up this morning I was really paying for it! My hands were so swollen it hurt to move my fingers - my rings wouldn't come off so I forgot the salt content of take out food! I also had a side salad with ranch dressing -- the nice thing about BK salads is they don't put anything but lettuce and 3 thin 1/2 slices of tomato in the bowl so I didn't have to fish out any illegal foods (carrots) out. It took 3 of my 30 oz jugs of water until my hands started feeling less swollen! Guess I learned that lesson -- NO BK!!! TOO MUCH SODIUM! Breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs w/ham & scant cheese...ended up not looking like scrambled eggs so I folded it over and made an omelet out of it -- put 1Tbsp of salsa on top for a different taste. Lunch: a bowl of romaine lettuce, asiago cheese and chicken w/caesar dressing ....it tasted really good!! Evening glucose was 77. We had polska kielbasa, fried cabbage and fresh green beans w/bacon for dinner!! It was so good. I love fried cabbage -- I bet I could eat it everyday! I had a flax cookie after dinner. I measured for the end of #51 6WEC and lost 6 pounds and 10.5 inches in 6 weeks. I'm ecstatic with those numbers -- I had lost 2 more pounds last week and had adjusted my ticker but I hadn't seen the whooshie fairie for a few days and gained 2 pounds back! That's ok....that beautiful fairie came to visit just after dinner tonight so I'm hoping when I weigh to start #52 6WEC tomorrow I can re-adjust my ticker again!! Have a GREAT Atkins day!!
