Default Atkins Rocks, once again!

I am finally feeling back to normal and my BG are back where they should be! Wow, I was so close to giving in and going back on meds- but I decided to start keeping a much closer watch on my carbs and it made all the difference! This board helped me get through the discouragement- I was so down because I felt tired and hungry all the time- just like before atkins- Thanks Canuck for your encouragement- and I finally realized that there were two things that are not good for me- ever- nuts and caffeine! They are gone! I was having such cravings- but I am back in ketosis and feeling Great!

Well done Sassy. Nuts seem to be a problem for many people.

Hey sass,

how wonderful,

you know I am giving up the dam nuts too, I think oh a handful of almonds about 4pm when hungry and bango a handful is more and more then craving, coffee seems ok for me but dam nuts, the bag is empty and I am NOT buying anymore.

Isn’t it amazing, so what are BG at now. I also wouldn’t worry about a tad of metphormin,it is a mental thing but its the process we go thru in middle of night where sometimes we just need that touch of meds.

I am going for an A1C and chol this week as have been putting it off as when in Cambodia ate more carbs than norm so am a bit leery, as I know mentally this can be such a fragile state we get in.

Isn’t it just flippin amazing how we know it all intellectually but when it eases out of our control a tad when we work hard how emotionally we get so looooowww.

Goodonaygirl!

I am truly really happy for you as I know what it means.I also truly thank you for the feedback.

My BG readings are mostly under 100- sometimes 110 two hours after eating. My morning readings were up to around 150 or 160- didn't like that. Those are the readings that I have always had trouble with. I too need to shedule an appointment for an A1C soon. Hope yours comes out ok. I know that taking a little metformin is not that big a deal- it just seems like a step backward!! I know that eventualy I might have to do that - but I am not ready for it yet! I am hoping for a cure before I get to that point!

good for you!!!! Dr aAtkins was very concerned about Diabetes and spent the last yrs of his life working to cure the epidemic by getting the word out about low carb even to the point of hiring those fellows who run ANA now so he wouldn't have to and could concentrate on it.
