| I hate to say it, but that sounds too serious to NOT see a Dr. It does sounds a bit like peri-menopause symptoms...which can start quite a few years before you actually hit menopause...but you don't want to mess around with your health. Try to see a Dr. if you can!

| From my experience when I get the shakes and blurry vision my blood sugar is in the 60's which isn't good. It happens now occasionally but not like it did when I was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes last summer. When it happens get a piece of some type of cheese or a string cheese stick, some celery sticks or radishes and eat them slowly. Sit down and rest a few minutes - have a glass of water, -- that should be enough to get your glucose level back up enough the those "crash" symptoms go away. My uncle was always told to drink 4oz of orange juice and eat 2 nilla wafers ..... I did that when I first started but honestly that made me feel worse. I've learned by experience what works and what doesn't for me. You need to have an A1C done to see what your average blood sugar readings have been over the past 3 months -- it takes just a few minutes and they only need 1 drop of your blood. This isn't anything to mess with - please get to a clinic or to your doctor and have this checked out as soon as possible. Let me know what the doctor says -- how close to St Louis do you live, you might be able to find a free clinic in your area. If you have other questions about diabetes let me know, I might be able to help. |

| Sounds to me like you're experiencing hypo-glycemia (low blood sugar) Carole is right, some lab work will show for sure what's going on with your glucose levels. See if there is a free clinic in your area such as a county health department. They can do the testing for you. That's the first place I found out that I was Hypo-glycemic when I was 24. At 33, I was pregnant and got diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It went away after her birth. When I turned 40, I was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes. At 42 I began Atkins and it reversed my diabetes in 47 days and have been able to manage it with Atkins alone. I'll be turning 48 in July. I can say this, Atkins is the best woe for Hypo-glycemics and Diabetics. So if it is Diabetes, there is hope for you. Sherri
