No alcohol on induction, missy! When you get to the alcohol part of OWL your diet coke and vodka should be just fine....

Here is what I found. I am going to a party tomorrow evening an would like to have a drink. I found this little article while looking for carb content in alcohol. I did find that ocean spray makes a light cranberry juice with 2/3 less carbs than regular juice or I might try mixing with crystal light or something. But here is the article.

Robert C. Atkins –– the Granddaddy of them all:

"Here's the problem with all alcoholic beverages, and the reason I recommend refraining from alcohol consumption on the diet. Alcohol, whenever taken in, is the first fuel to burn. While that's going on, your body will not burn fat. This does not stop the weight loss, it simply postpones it, since the alcohol does not store as glycogen, you immediately go back into ketosis/lipolysis after the alcohol is used up.

If you must drink alcohol, wine is an acceptable addition to levels beyond the Induction diet. If wine does not suit your taste, straight liquor such as scotch, rye, vodka, and gin would be appropriate, as long as the mixer is sugarless; this means no juice, tonic water; or non-diet soda. Seltzer and diet soda are appropriate."

I don't know if this helps, but i don't drink any alchohol at all, even when I'm not on induction.

It becomes a problem when out socially (Especially here in Australia), but I stick to my guns.

I've just decided it's not worth it. I get no positive benefits from my personal consumption of alchohol.

But what about a light beer ? There is a low carb beer in Australia.

LOL Can you tell she never read DANDR

Whatever idiot at Bud Light came up with the "all light beers are low carb" should be taken out and force-fed Bud Light until he turns into a blimp. There's almost 7g per bottle, over a third of your daily carb intake. Sam Adams Light is almost a full 10g per bottle. That's half your daily carb limit, on induction!.....

By Lisa Shea
inductees don't drink beer because it isn't on the acceptasble foods lists so it doesn't matter how mnay of their induction daily carb limit it has.

When you arrive in OWL on Rung 5 you can decide for yourself if you want that alcohol bacxk or not. be warned because you are low carbing alcohol will effect you faster in smaller amounts then you used to drink.

HAppy low carbing
